Chapter 411 · Volume 1

The Final Battle Commences

Oasis, the King's Castle.
Smoke rose from all sides, and the fires of war blazed.
After a long period of preparation, the player army was unstoppable, fighting their way into the royal palace to confront the king seated upon his throne.
The latter's face was hidden in darkness, and a heavy pressure radiated from him, making it difficult for the players to breathe.
Looking at the staggering health pool of one million, only one thought remained in the players' minds.
This final battle had only just begun.
Suddenly, doors on all sides swung open, and tens of thousands of monsters that had been waiting for a long time swarmed toward the players with savage eyes.
"Prepare for battle!" a guild leader shouted.
"Cover the people from the Silent Sequence as they move toward the throne; they are the main force for this raid!"
"Clear out the monsters on the perimeter immediately!"
A series of tactical commands were rapidly issued to the nearly one thousand combat elites present. The players charged forward in unison, clashing with the surrounding monsters to tear open a path for the five members of the Silent Sequence.
Smiling Jazz did not make a move. The Sleeping Count and the Crying Duke lunged from the flanks, while the Sullen-face Baron, clad in heavy armor, descended from the sky like a cannonball, crashing into the line of elite monsters and smashing a gap through them.
The Mad-face Viscount sprinted low to the ground, bursting through the gap in an instant. His figure flickered through the air like a bolt of lightning, reaching the throne in the blink of an eye. He held his sharp blade against his shoulder, slashing toward the neck of the Incurable Crown.
However, the figure on the throne merely tapped a finger against the armrest, and an invisible shockwave erupted, sending the Mad-face Viscount flying back a hundred meters. He landed and leaped into the air again, performing several backflips to neutralize the force of the strike.
"Hey, hey, hey, no way. With these stats, is this guy really a grade 3 dungeon boss?"
The five members of the Silent Sequence looked at the status bar of the Incurable Crown.
[Incurable Crown Constantine]
[Affiliation: Pestilence Empire]
[Alignment: Absolute Hostility]
[Health: 1,000,000 (100%)]
[Nightmare-level Dungeon Boss!]
[Warning! Warning! Warning!]
[Sinner of the Kingdom, Ignorant Monarch, Initiator of the Gnawing Parasite Miracle, Painful Soul Imprisoned by the Plague. A real terminal illness patient?]
[Target Buffs: Deterioration, Domination, Lightning Shield, Forcefield Defense, Hecatoncheires, Rampage, Thrust Resistance, Strike Resistance, Danger Sense, Over-tier Pressure, Plague Body, Unity of Heaven and Man...]
The Mad-face Viscount pulled out a Truth Analysis monocle. Data on the Incurable Crown rapidly parsed before his eyes. Upon discovering that the opponent possessed a staggering 50% damage reduction against all types, he couldn't help but exclaim.
"This is too overpowered. Is it really okay to stuff a stat-beast like this into a grade 3 dungeon? I've seen elite creatures in prism grade dungeons that aren't even this strong."
"If you're scared, just stay on the sidelines and watch."
The Crying Duke arrived at that moment. His cane appeared, striking hard against the displacement forcefield surrounding the Incurable Crown, sending out waves of ripples.
That seemingly ordinary strike contained terrifying energy, and the resulting shockwave swept through the surroundings.
The Crying Duke's attack was far from over. He retreated rapidly after the strike as several float-ships emerged in the sky, their shadows blanketing the earth. The energy of the ships' annihilation cannons converged, and black 'X' markers slowly locked on as a suffocating aura of death filled the air.
The moment the lock-on was complete, beams of annihilation descended from the sky, striking downward and instantly engulfing the throne!
That wasn't all. The Crying Duke pointed his cane, issuing an extermination order. The float-ships were instantly armed to the teeth, unleashing a dense barrage of annihilation cannons, missiles, and machine guns as if they cost nothing. The concentrated fire shredded the ceiling and walls, causing the ground to crumble inch by inch.
The rising dust momentarily shrouded the entire camp.
The Crying Duke stood before the smoke with a cold sneer. This was one of the abilities of his mimicked Extinction Staff. As the support of the Silent Sequence, he was the only long-range attacker in all of Oasis who could perfectly fulfill the support role through long-range firepower suppression alone.
There was nothing his Extinction Armaments could not tear apart.
As long as the firepower was fierce enough, even a world-class lord would surely be ground into powder in a steel storm!
The bombardment lasted for nearly half a minute, leaving the other players lingering with fear, feeling glad that they were not the ones facing such an enemy.
As the dust settled, a scene appeared that left the Crying Duke stunned.
The Incurable Crown was still sitting calmly on his throne. Aside from the displacement forcefield surrounding him having dimmed slightly, the previous onslaught had failed to leave a single wound on him!
"How is this possible?" the Crying Duke gasped, his expression changing.
"Your bombardment wasn't all that much. In the end, killing this guy has to be left to me!" the Mad-face Viscount laughed wildly as he charged out.
The battlefield was incredibly chaotic. The sounds of players fighting and monsters howling mixed together. Several shells whistled past, exploding near Smiling Jazz, the gale whipping his robes.
He looked up, a dark gloom hidden beneath his usual smiling face. He was in no hurry to act; instead, he scanned the surroundings, but he failed to find the figure he wanted to see.
"Sullen-face."
"I'm here, Leader," the burly figure said. "Do you need me to help them?"
"No. You're responsible for guarding the perimeter. Leave the rest to me and Sleeping Count."
"Understood."
"Dark Gold Rose, where on earth are you right now?" Smiling Jazz's eyes darkened as he tapped his index finger against the back of his hand.
He didn't believe for a second that she would give up the chance to claim the kill on the Incurable Crown. She must be hiding in a corner with her people, waiting for the right moment.
Two hours into the battle, on the battlefield outside the royal palace, the fires among the ruins lit up the shadows in the sky. Broken banners lay scattered everywhere, and halberds were thrust into the corpses of monsters.
The battle had reached a fever pitch. Countless players were fighting the monsters on the perimeter, various attack effects flashing and disappearing, and the roar of shells was deafening.
The clashing of weapons was dizzying.
In this chaos, two cat-boys stood back-to-back, their resolute young faces covered in dust. They were surrounded by countless eyes yearning to tear them apart.
"Ugh, what do we do? Everyone from the King's Clan is still held up at the Bastion. It's just us here," one cat-boy said.
"Everyone is scattered. We can't just give up. we have to regroup with the others quickly."
"I'm almost out of strength." The cat-boy's eyes were vacant as he swayed on his feet.
"Hold on! If you die here, you won't grow any taller!" the other cat-boy said anxiously.
"No, I can't fall yet. I want to grow as tall as Yan Ze."
The cat-boy shook his head. Suddenly, he saw the terrified look in his companion's eyes. Through his friend's pupils, he could clearly see a Fallen Titan let out a roar, smashing through the monsters in its way and raising a spear to impale him through the back.
Just as the youth closed his eyes in fear, preparing to accept the tragic fate of never growing taller, he found that the imagined pain never arrived.
The dull sound of a body hitting the ground coincided with the neighing of a horse. When he opened his eyes again, a golden figure entered his vision.
Xu Xiaoyou was gripping her rose rifle, her hair tied in a spirited high ponytail. She pulled hard on the reins of her storm steed, looking down at the chest of the fallen Fallen Titan. A hole the size of a bowl was strikingly visible, and the sparks on the charred flesh were slowly fading.
The name of this dead Fallen Titan soldier caught Xu Xiaoyou's attention.
