"This woman still wants to snatch our outpost, hahaha, I think she’s gone mad!"
"Which guild is this person from? She’s certainly got some nerve." The brawny man noticed the guild information on the silver-haired girl’s panel, his tone puzzled.
"Light-Chaser Garden? Never heard of it."
At this time, someone leaned in and whispered softly in the brawny man's ear.
"Boss, it seems like Dark Gold Rose’s guild. Should we.."
"Dark Gold Rose?" The brawny man laughed dismissively. "That woman really thinks she’s something. Who the hell does she think she is in Oasis?"
"I could wipe them out whenever I feel like it."
"Kill this one. I want to see what that Dark Gold Rose can do to us in Oasis!"
The members of the Love and Peace guild looked at each other and revealed cruel smiles.
Seeing the crowd surround Silver Light, their weapons clashing and ringing, the girl seemed about to meet with misfortune, but then she let out a contemptuous laugh.
"What are you laughing at?" someone questioned sharply.
"I’m laughing because you can’t even tell that your end is near."
Silver Light slowly raised her head, a glint flashing in her eyes.
"I say, when are you planning to make your move?"
"What!?"
"Step back." A steady response came from above.
Everyone was immediately struck with alarm. Before they could react, Silver Light suddenly leaped into the air, and two 'Mojito Molotovs' were thrown, scattering fine sparks.
What poured out of the wine barrels wasn't just wine, but high-purity distilled spirits. The moment the Molotovs hit the ground, flames roared like pythons through the entire cellar. Figures wreathed in fire let out piercing wails, over a dozen silhouettes dancing and flailing in the flames, collapsing to the ground and patting themselves in a futile struggle.
Prompt boxes for abnormal status damage popped up in a row before the girl’s eyes, like thugs lining up for a deathly dance.
Flaming light danced in the room behind her, illuminating Silver Light’s face. She held a lady's cigarette, trying to light it a few times without success, when a silver 'Revenge' lighter was offered to her. The outline of a black-haired girl gradually emerged in the darkness.
Silver Light chuckled. She found that she and this fellow named 'Black Crow' actually got along quite well.
Aside from being as taciturn as a sealed jar, the other girl was perfect in every way.
"You’ve got good moves."
As Black Crow spoke, she tucked the lighter away and tossed a silver coin.
"It’s just that these people were too stupid."
Silver Light leaned lazily against the wall behind her and exhaled smoke into Black Crow's face.
The latter frowned slightly, waving away the choking gas near her nose. She caught the silver coin steadily, leaning back against the wall, pinning her waist-length black hair. A black vest accentuated her straight back, while a well-fitted pure white shirt made her look like a silent butler.
Upon closer inspection, she had delicate eyebrows that looked as if they were painted on, and her eyes were clear with distinct black and white. Her regular features were very pleasant to look at, and the wolf ears on her head twitched slightly, adding an element of disharmony to the girl's quiet appearance.
"A Provence 600 commemorative coin." Silver Light suddenly dropped a cryptic remark.
Black Crow's gaze shifted slightly, but she didn't respond.
"Where did it come from? I remember that Hive City was destroyed by the Scarlet Miracle advent two years ago, and these coins were only issued shortly before that. I heard the high-ranking officials and nobles hyped the price up to nearly forty thousand chanfu to keep them as collectibles. You could pawn it for a lot of good stuff in the Kowloon Information's sphere of influence."
Black Crow: "..."
Noticing that the black-haired girl's face seemed to grow even more somber, Silver Light raised an eyebrow and said no more.
After a long silence, Black Crow finally broke it:
"What do you think?"
"What do I think about what?"
"The... that person's summons. She told us to gather at Mist Village Harbor."
Silver Light crossed her arms, her eyes playful. "What do you think, little beauty?"
Black Crow's tone was cold. "Don't call me that. It's disgusting."
"How cold. I thought our relationship was already at the point where we could let our guards down around each other."
Silver Light replied, flicking away the ash as dark red sparks danced in the air.
"We just captured this outpost," Black Crow said tentatively.
Silver Light spread her hands generously. "Then just ignore her. It has nothing to do with us. She’s just a temporary president; who knows, we might just jump ship one day."
"There are still plenty of spoils to scavenge in this outpost. It’s an advanced outpost, after all, so there should be a good haul. If worst comes to worst, we'll finish cleaning this place out, and when she asks later, we'll just say we didn't see the message, right?"
"Besides, we’ve captured a new outpost for the guild. In all fairness, she should be thanking us, not blaming us, right?"
Every time the word 'we' came from the silver-haired girl’s lips, a trace of imperceptible resistance flickered across Black Crow’s face. She ultimately did not refute the other’s words, responding with silence.
"Let’s go and see if we can find anything valuable. I’ve had my eye on a single-edged sword for a long time."
"Give it back." The black-haired girl raised her head, her eyes icy as an invisible killing intent spread around her, freezing the air in that moment.
Silver Light sighed and tossed the newly acquired silver coin back to Black Crow, resting a finger on her chin.
"Fine, fine. It seems our lady swordsman has no trust in her thief companion at all?"
Silver Light blinked. "I only borrowed it to take a look. Why were you so sure I wouldn't give it back?"
"If there’s a next time," Black Crow said as she walked past the silver-haired girl, "I’ll kill you."
"So fierce, little crow," Silver Light muttered to herself as she watched the other's retreating figure.
....
Time flickered by, and it was now 7:30 PM.
Watching the distant silhouette of the village harbor, shrouded in a heavy deathly aura, blur against the falling night, several guild members could no longer sit still. Golden Beetle, a grade 3 guardian, stepped forward and approached Xu Xiaoyou.
"President, are we still not giving the order to attack?"
"Yeah, President, if we don't act now, it'll be trouble when other small guilds gather around."
The people around them chimed in.
"Yuzu, three other guilds set out with us; they’ll be here in two hours at the latest," Akabane Tsubaki reminded her softly.
"Hmph, if you let me lead the charge, I would've torn this wretched town down long ago," Angelina said coldly.
Xu Xiaoyou’s gaze remained on the guild member list. Two members had yet to arrive. As she expected, they were Silver Light and Black Crow. She didn't show any displeasure, only smiled indifferently and stood up under the surrounding gazes.
"It seems my words don't carry much weight."
She could clearly track the real-time locations of those two. What interested Xu Xiaoyou was that they had actually managed to take down the Aliford Brewery occupied by the Love and Peace guild with just the two of them.
While it didn't affect her decision-making, if she didn't come up with a proper way to handle it, her role as president wouldn't be easy in the future.
Thinking this, Xu Xiaoyou withdrew her gaze and took a step forward.
"Prepare to attack."
Behind the blonde girl, a silver mecha reflected the cold luster of the moonlight. Over thirty fully-armed guild members stood solemnly, like a pack of bloodthirsty wolves, waiting for their master’s command to swarm out and tear apart any prey standing in their way!
"Take this place down within the hour."
