"Do you confirm the use of the hyperdimensional projector?"
"Once used, your existing save will be overwritten. All achievements, honors, and items will be reset. Your status will be synchronized with reality. Note: This process is irreversible."
Xu Xiaoyou clicked to confirm.
The hyperdimensional projector floated into the air. Its outer pale-gold ring began to rotate at high speed, while violent electrical arcs danced across the surface of the dark-red core within, erupting into a dazzling light!
Countless research documents were swept up by a wild wind, swirling rapidly around the ceiling. Surgical instruments in the disinfection tray rose into the air under the influence of gravity. Precise equipment was struck by sharp electrical arcs and scrapped on the spot; floating dust was annihilated by the blinding radiance.
Different dimensions and spacetimes overlapped at this moment!
[Welcome back to Oasis, Player No. 0E3604!]
The blinding light receded, and the hyperdimensional projector vanished. The silhouette of the golden-haired girl gradually emerged, her white lab coat transforming into a black windbreaker as it fluttered, and her loose long hair was tied into a sharp low ponytail.
A warm current slowly rose within her body. This warmth spread from her chest to her limbs, and a familiar sense of power filled her entire being as her body successfully synchronized with reality.
This meant that her becoming stronger in Oasis could also be reflected in reality, and her physical body in the real world would receive a certain degree of enhancement.
She tried to condense a skill card, but a prompt box saying "Insufficient Wealth" popped up. At that moment, the guards outside the door finally noticed the commotion inside and rushed in, pointing their muzzles at her.
"Don't move!"
Xu Xiaoyou merely glanced at them. Those soldiers of the Traidy Commercial Alliance suddenly felt an invisible pressure descending from the heavens; the more cowardly ones could hardly even stand their ground.
The golden-haired girl before them was simply not a creature of the same dimension as them. A single glance caused their hearts to constrict and their blood to freeze as a nearly suffocating fear exploded in their minds.
Only one thought remained in their hearts: that doctor had turned into a monster—a monster so powerful it inspired despair.
Fear pressed upon their nerves, causing them to lose their reason. One soldier let out a panicked scream and pulled the trigger on Xu Xiaoyou, the muzzle flash flickering repeatedly in the dim room.
All the bullets were abruptly intercepted by an invisible force a few centimeters in front of the girl's forehead.
The bullet bodies deformed severely, as if striking dragon-steel copper, hovering in mid-air before dropping one by one to the floor with crisp metallic clinks.
Perfect. In reality, she hadn't yet tried out the abilities of The Artist urban legend card.
The windbreaker at her legs extended to the ground, merging with the shadows. An invisible, pitch-black giant hand rose arrogantly, like a vicious hound released from hell by its master, letting out a whimpering low growl. It casually crushed the remaining bullets into iron sand, its aura becoming increasingly restless as it began to rampage behind the girl!
Everything in the room was being destroyed by the out-of-control giant hand. The surgical shadowless lamp was crushed, erupting in sparks and electrical flashes. Scattered tables and chairs instantly burst into powder, while deep claw marks from the vicious hound were left on the walls and ceiling.
Steel rebars were torn out and snapped like toys.
Boom—the explosion was deafening. The carriage wall behind the golden-haired girl was instantly blown away by a massive force. Her windbreaker billowed into the air as the wind roared in. Falling snow ignited into ash, and blood-red moonlight spilled down, making those beautiful amber eyes look like those of a demon.
"A mon..." Before a soldier could finish his sentence, his face suddenly deformed, and his entire body exploded into a massive blood flower against the wall!
"A monster, ahhh!" Another soldier fired in a breakdown of panic, only to be lifted by an invisible force and crushed in the air like an ant.
The companions in front died bizarrely one after another. In the corridor, the soldiers coming for support watched helplessly as a man collapsed. Before he could crawl even a few steps, he was dragged back into the room, letting out a painful howl, the final expression of terror on his face profoundly etched.
Under their trembling gazes, a twisted and gargantuan shadow shrouded the entire hallway. The golden-haired girl walked out of the room, turning her head as the bloodstains on her cheek glowed faintly in the darkness, her gaze landing on them in the next moment.
"HP -422! You dealt blunt damage to a 'Traidy soldier'; the damage triggered a critical bonus!"
"HP -637! You dealt blunt damage to an 'elite Traidy soldier'; the damage triggered a critical bonus!"
"Run, run!"
"Run fast! This monster is not something we can contend with at all!"
"Argh!"
No one could escape the hunt of the Hand of Silence. Shadows were everywhere. Sheets of shadow shrouded the floor, and the pitch-black giant hand transformed into a bloody maw, suddenly pouncing from the shadows to swallow all the soldiers at once.
Horrifying sounds of chewing and bones snapping echoed in the darkness.
It felt like an extension of her own limbs; this feeling of control was quite miraculous. Xu Xiaoyou could clearly feel the presence of the Hand of Silence.
Aside from the little bit of time it took to tame this cute little fellow at the start, after some simple adaptation, controlling it was now not much different from moving her own hands.
Over a dozen rioters received their orders and pounced toward her simultaneously, only to be grabbed by the invisible giant hand and smashed into a pile of scrap metal on the floor.
"HP -3000! You dealt blunt damage to a 'riot-type autonomous robot'; the damage triggered a critical bonus!"
"Dark Gold Rose! Boss!"
A small team of players who were rushing toward the noble carriage to organize a rescue mission happened to run into Xu Xiaoyou and were deeply shocked by the scene before them.
The horizon was ignited into a sea of fire. The entire section of the carriage had collapsed. The derailed train smashed through the tracks and slammed heavily onto the earth. The out-of-control carriages collided with each other, and the rear of the train took flight, flipping and burning in mid-air as it disintegrated amidst thick black smoke. Continuous explosions bombarded the sky into blazing golden roses, and the golden-red rain of iron pierced the earth into a thousand holes. Every sharp piece of iron falling densely was stained with flames, as if ten thousand archers were releasing fire arrows behind the girl, their target being the city of a god.
The once-mighty war titans looked like toys made of Lego blocks in front of the girl. They knelt before Xu Xiaoyou; the sword-bearer needed no submission. The armor-covered chests exploded open, exposing thick cables. An invisible force pulled out the pilots inside, ignoring their struggling screams and tossing them into the storm of steel and fire.
One player greeted her excitedly. The golden-haired girl smiled and nodded in acknowledgment, walking up to them and patting their shoulders.
Unfortunately, she didn't use her own hands.
One of the players, who had barely dodged an attack and whose health bar was not yet empty, lay on the ground and looked at the golden-haired girl walking toward him in confusion. It was as if death's knell was ringing in his ears. He said weakly, "Why... why, Boss Dark Gold Rose?"
Xu Xiaoyou gave a faint smile. "Sorry. The antidote research failed. I cannot allow this train to reach a civilized city."
"To be precise, I cannot allow anyone without antibodies to reach a civilized city alive."
"Could you please close your eyes? It'll be very fast; there won't be any pain."
This was the mission of a sword-bearer.
"I don't understand..." the player said blankly.
Xu Xiaoyou made a silencing gesture, her gaze compassionate. "Shh."
"Goodnight."
Shadows that covered the sky and earth stripped away his vision.
In the foremost carriage of the St. Punier, several noble elders were in the middle of a heated discussion.
"The train's radio signal has been sent. The people of North Lodofen received our signal. I've persuaded them to open the city gates and let the train in!"
"Excellent! After a hundred years, we can finally return to the mainland!"
"Those idiots. We'll soon be able to research the antidote. Once we can control the virus, with this plague army, we will sweep across the entire New Federation territory—unrivaled and invincible!"
"We will make the name of the Traidy Commercial Alliance great again!" Everyone raised their glasses in celebration.
"Why is there such a huge commotion outside?"
"Could it be that those refugees from the bottom tier are attacking?"
At this point, the noble elders in the meeting finally realized something was wrong. Since who knows when, the train had been faintly trembling without stopping. Now, the floor of the carriage was shaking violently, the lights from the ceiling flickering erratically. Crystal bulbs fell to the floor and shattered with a pop.
The elders stood up and jogged out of the conference room, only to see a scene they would never forget for the rest of their lives.
A girl stood with her back to them, her golden hair dancing in the wind, her hands casually tucked into her jacket pockets. Her sleeves were lightly rolled up, revealing a small section of her fair arms. And in front of the girl, the last few carriages were hovering in mid-air under a force that surpassed nature, shrinking into a tight sphere in an instant.
Sensing the horrified gazes of the group behind her, Xu Xiaoyou turned slightly.
"Has the meeting reached a conclusion?"
"Don't worry. It'll be your turn soon."
