Li Yue pulled the sword from her chest. Amidst the agonizing pain, she felt waves of exhaustion, yet she could sense something beginning to stir within her.
Reinhardt didn't appear to have sustained much damage, but his creations had all been scrapped under Li Yue’s magic, and the spells etched into them had been destroyed along with them. Li Yue desperately wanted to know if he still had any trump cards left.
Boom! Another massive roar echoed from the room behind Reinhardt. He let out a sigh as the wall behind him collapsed. A colossal machine filled Li Yue’s vision, its massive drill seemingly attempting to bore through something.
Beneath it was a black surface of ice. it looked riddled with cracks, as if it might shatter at any moment.
“The Death Abyss...” Li Yue frowned. It had indeed spread to this place. She looked at Reinhardt, her skin appearing pale from blood loss. The previous assault had drained her significantly, and she desperately needed a moment of rest.
Reinhardt raised both hands high. Inside the massive floating head in the air, the metallic sphere gradually shed its outer shell, revealing a brilliant golden core. Every machine in the room began to converge toward this giant object.
His figure flew out of the room, and together with all the machinery in the factory, every metal product began to orbit around him as the center, like a metallic storm.
In the room where the final battle was taking place, Li Yue still felt her body was somewhat devoid of strength.
Inside the laboratory, Lane had lost count of how many mechanical constructs he had slain. He was covered in blood and gasping for air when suddenly, several blood blades swept through, cutting down the blood demons around him. Li Yue arrived at high speed.
“How are things?” Lane asked anxiously.
“Stay here. If you go out, you’ll die.” Li Yue shattered a nearby culture vat, which contained a body caught between being a blood demon and a human.
The body was so bloated that its gender was indistinguishable, and it appeared to have reached near-complete blood demonization.
Li Yue bit into its neck. The body rapidly shriveled until it was nothing more than skin and bones.
Lane watched all of this, wanting to stop her but not knowing what to say.
“Alright...” Li Yue wiped her mouth. “Now I’m a complete monster.”
Her eyes were redder than fresh blood. She ran past Lane toward a gap in the ceiling, transforming into a blood shadow as she flew toward the sky.
The massive mechanical beast was nearly finished assembling. People had already begun to flee in all directions. The shape of a Tyrannosaurus was almost complete, though its left hand was exceptionally strong.
A blue core shimmered in its chest. Li Yue leaped into the air. The Blood Moon hung high in the sky, and the entire steel behemoth was enveloped within her own domain.
The beast’s exaggeratedly strong right hand was entirely composed of cannons, which began firing a near-endless barrage of shells at Li Yue while she was in mid-air. Massive mechanical fragments hurtled toward her from every direction.
Blood-colored moonlight wrapped around her, blocking countless attacks. As she adjusted her posture in the air, she saw a golden light charging within the dragon’s mouth.
The moon’s light, fluid as water, surged against her, propelling her body rapidly through the air. She narrowly dodged the strike that pierced through the heavens. A large portion of the twilight on the horizon was shattered, revealing the dark night of the original world.
Thin metal sheets fell rapidly from the sky like the blades of a guillotine.
Blood-red moonlight poured from the sky, colliding with the seemingly infinite barrage of shells. The fire from the explosions looked as if it were about to ignite the entire twilight sky.
“Is this your limit?” Reinhardt said flatly. A second charged shell hurtled toward her. She narrowly dodged it, but her left arm was destroyed by the intense energy.
“Of course not...” Li Yue’s left arm regenerated instantly.
“Hmm?” Lane frowned. In the midst of the battle just now, he hadn't noticed that the moon in the sky was drawing closer and closer.
The Blood Moon fell from the sky, crashing into the dragon’s body. The golden core spun frantically, but it still couldn't stop the body from slowly beginning to fracture.
The blood-colored world began to shatter from the heavens down, and even the Blood Moon started to break apart, turning into blood-red moonlight that poured toward the ground.
The dragon’s body collapsed with a thunderous roar, shattering along with Li Yue’s blood-colored world. Li Yue’s body plummeted from the sky, heading straight for the top of the dragon’s head. Her blood blades pierced through the toughest armor, and with a forceful tear, she ripped through layer after layer of steel plating.
Reinhardt was revealed within. The control room exploded at that moment. Reinhardt, wielding a silver sword, charged toward her at the same time. A blinding white light flared, and Li Yue couldn't help but squint. At this point, she was at the end of her tether.
She swung her sword with all her might. Reinhardt dodged to the right, and his entire left arm was sliced off, rolling on the ground as blood sprayed. At the same time, the mithril dagger he held pierced into Li Yue’s body.
An intense sensation of rejection and weakness washed over her. She knelt on the ground in pain, staring at the floor in disbelief. It felt as if all the strength in her body had been stripped away.
“I’ve studied life magic for so long and researched this artifact specifically to counter you. How does it feel? Although it only lasts for one minute, that’s more than enough.” Reinhardt ignored his bleeding left arm and pressed a flintlock pistol against Li Yue’s forehead.
Her face was pale, her eyes had turned a dark red, and her hands hung powerlessly. Everything seemed to have been exhausted. She stared into the dark muzzle of the gun, feeling as though death was coming for her once again.
She let out a helpless sigh. Her hair was a mess, her body was covered in blood, and her clothes were torn in many places. She looked both battered and pitiful.
“Will I die this time?” Li Yue thought to herself. “Besides her, no one in this world would be sad, right? Perhaps from the moment I drank blood, everything was already predestined.”
“Checkmate, Miss!” Reinhardt panted heavily. His left arm was still spurting blood, and even he didn't know if he had enough magic reserves left to save himself.
It didn't matter. As long as I kill her, my path is the right one!
