Chapter 325 · Volume 1

Denying Existence

Was it about to end? This question appeared in everyone’s hearts simultaneously. From the moment they saw that giant eye in the sky, even the most rational and optimistic people began preparing their own epitaphs.
Of course... of course it wouldn't. Li Yue didn't feel even a trace of despair. She didn't pay attention to the foolish ones below the Underworld who had nearly lost their minds by staring; many more had already covered their eyes, forcing themselves to see nothing and know nothing.
Through the "Fate" tarot card, she had naturally known this day would come, and she had known the horror of her opponent long ago. Everything she had done was for today—or rather, for this very moment where the pause button had been pressed.
His body was still entering this world, or to put it in a more terrifying way, he was assimilating this world. Just like ten thousand years ago, bloody eyes opened upon the once-prosperous World Tree, the sky turned pitch black, and the sun became his eye, casting down his dark gaze.
The earth’s soil became soft and damp, like pieces of limp, rotting raw meat secreting a slimy liquid.
At that time, he had only eroded the world without fully entering it. Perhaps his consciousness was not yet complete then? Li Yue did not dwell on the reason. Over the following thousands of years, she had constantly tried to find those blood-stained memories and recover her power and authority, so she could finally destroy this world with her own hands.
She imagined that her "Death" would be the gentlest way for this world to end.
“Originally... the one to destroy this world should have been me...” Li Yue let out a long sigh. The little snake on her wrist poked its head out again, quietly slithering until it reached her neck.
But unfortunately... I met someone... whom I want to let live, no matter what...
So... no matter what kind of existence you are, I will kill you. I will put you to death, regardless of the cost...
Li Yue took a deep breath. She was surrounded by countless authorities that did not belong to her—these were the authorities of every god from the Golden Holy City ten thousand years ago. Even if she was unwilling to reminisce, those familiar faces flashed before her eyes. At this moment, the gods who had once stood in front of her countless times now stood behind her.
“I killed you all... and you still won't rest? Or are you waiting for me, so I won't have to walk this path alone?” Li Yue smiled with a sense of relief and opened her arms. The pitch-black Midgard Serpent at her neck bit down hard. This was the serpent that had once swallowed all the life force of the World Tree; now, that life force, which had been in exile for ten thousand years, finally entered her body.
“How long can I last?” Li Yue made a rough estimate. “It’s enough... but every second counts...”
All the authorities that did not belong to her began to forcibly integrate with her, and her divine essence slowly started to flicker out. The deity known as "Death" gradually vanished, her flesh-and-blood body slowly dissipating as a brand-new divine essence began to fuse and emerge under the massive life force and authorities of the entire world.
The form of existence was slowly deconstructed. A god who could deny existence was born amidst the fall of an entire world. A crown named the Void Crown quietly descended upon the secular world. In the Underworld, the god of Madness, who was preparing to enter the secular world, seemed not to realize that she had reached a tier nearly equal to his own as he continued trying to merge his body into this world.
His divinity continued to spread. In the world he created, rational thought and logic slowly became meaningless. All theoretical knowledge turned into pale emptiness, because here, the truth of the universe was 1+1=apple.
Yet this erosion didn't seem to affect the secular world. Something with nearly infinite mass yet infinitely small was attracting his body. The Underworld seemed to disappear, replaced by a vast expanse of void. Even if stars could be seen in the distant space, they represented a grand, unbridgeable distance between the ideal and reality.
As if creating the primordial universe, the Void Crown lay quietly at the very center of this world, swallowing the surrounding void like a black hole. She quietly descended and placed that Void Crown upon her head. At that very instant, people forgot the things that were about to happen and remembered a future that would never occur.
A god who denied the very concept of existence was born.
The dominator known as Madness seemed to find it somewhat interesting at this moment. He immediately created his own world, but in this world where all rationality collapsed, the definition of madness began to be denied the moment it touched the Void Crown.
For a brief moment, his own tier began to waver, and his divinity started to regress. Everything that seemed settled appeared as if it would eventually become like ink vanishing from a white sheet of paper.
“It worked...” The thought flashed through Li Yue’s mind. Her body, composed of countless stars, was rapidly consuming the life force of an entire world. She was denying her own existence, and then denying that denial of existence—committing divine suicide just to buy a little more time to burn herself out.
Li Yue pointed her finger toward the entire starry sky, driving her authority to erase the existence of Madness. At this moment, she believed that only by erasing the traces of his existence until he only existed on discarded pages from printing errors could this catastrophe be ended.
The universes envisioned by the two supreme beings were spread out simultaneously. Under the violent impact of different concepts, things moved irrevocably toward destruction, only to repeatedly return laughing, before being coldly negated and vanishing the moment before their birth, cycling this way trillions of times.
At the instant where the end of the world and the creation of a new one began simultaneously, the end and the beginning seemed to freeze in that moment. The dominator known as Madness receded like a tide. His power still covered every corner of the re-creation, but his actual presence seemed to have been erased, leaving only "Madness" to fill the corners of the universe like matter.
The world seemed to change. Countless brilliant stars began to appear in the night sky people looked up at. Perhaps new civilizations would be born among them. The world was no longer separated by seas; the sea of stars became the new expanse that needed to be crossed.
And at the very center of the universe, the Void Crown still lay there peacefully, originating from the beginning of creation.
And at this very moment, the second hand finally crossed that instant and arrived at the next.
A figure in a white dress appeared at the window. The world was silent, as if nothing had ever happened. She sat by the window, looking at the blue-haired girl who seemed to have just woken from a vast dream. She gave a relaxed, joyful smile, as brilliant as summer.
“Do I still owe you a wedding?”
