Chapter 300 · Volume 1

My Beloved, Your King

The blood-red miracle continued to rage across the land. Li Yue seemed to have channeled all the power she had no other outlet for into these spectacles. Vaguely, people could see a pale white figure sitting upon a crimson throne, looking down at the mortal realm, the immense pressure forcibly suppressing this silent world.
“A Yue... what exactly is happening?” Clo stared at the crimson spectacle unfolding outside, her mouth hanging slightly open, unsure of what to say. A scarlet silence suppressed all of tonight's riots; everything born in fire was ultimately extinguished by a surge of blood.
“Miss Clo! This is bad...” Helen burst into Clo's room, her face filled with terror. “There are blood demons everywhere outside!”
“No... it’s over.” A faint blue light shimmered in Clo’s eyes. Everything that had happened in the last few seconds played out in her mind. All the blood demons were beginning to dissolve. This was magic that only Li Yue possessed, but why was its range so vast... so terrifying?
“It’s over?” Helen moved to the window. The surviving warriors were cheering “Long live the Emperor” amidst the burning forest. They had awakened from the initial shock of survival, raising their swords and shouting. The ecstasy of being pulled back from the brink of despair brought tears to their eyes.
“It really is over...” Helen watched in shock. But before she could recover from her daze, a pillar of blood-red light shot into the sky, instantly overshadowing all other spectacles in the world. A massive sigil was slowly spreading across the blood-red sky, as if someone from above had cast a gaze downward—an acknowledgment and recognition of a new existence and its power.
“Succession of the Throne?! How is that possible...” Helen froze in place. She slowly knelt down toward the blood-red sky.
“What? What are you all doing? What does this mean?” Clo was at a loss. She looked at the soldiers below; their faces were filled with shock and awe, yet tinged with a hint of sadness. One by one, they knelt down tremblingly, as if paying respects to an incredibly prominent figure.
“A new king has appeared...”
“Tsk...” Clo bolted out the door. In the hallway, soldiers in black armor stained with blood were all kneeling on the ground, alongside nuns in their monastic robes. Clo sprinted through the kneeling crowd, her eyes trembling. Only two possibilities remained, and neither was within her realm of understanding.
She could imagine that at this moment, every official in the Royal Court was likely kneeling in fear, regardless of what they had been doing. She had never witnessed such a spectacle; the previous master of the Royal Court was far older than her. She had heard the ancient legends of the Royal Court, but even now, she refused to believe it.
“A Yue... what on earth are you trying to do... didn't you say you didn't care about anything... Why...” Clo stumbled toward the main hall. Two Royal Court Holy Knights stood guard before the doors, half-kneeling on the ground and leaning on their uniquely colored longswords. They noticed Clo’s arrival; within the bounds of the Royal Court, these two powerful knights possessed strength rivaling a Calamity class.
“Step aside!” Clo let out a low growl. The heavy weight of time slammed them to the ground. They struggled to get back up, only to find that in that instant, the blessing that had always protected them had vanished—as if the master of the Royal Court had temporarily stripped them of their favor.
“Let her in.” A faint voice echoed in their ears. They quickly moved to the sides, and the barrier on the door opened along with them.
Clo walked tremblingly to the door. Not long ago, this was a door that could be pushed open roughly and casually; now, no one dared to show the slightest disrespect. Everyone was filled with dread for the being inside, except for Clo.
Bang! The moment she touched the door, it slowly swung open. The nobles waiting inside stood in two orderly rows. In the great hall covered in blood crystals, she saw that familiar stranger.
“Things happened a bit suddenly... but it was indeed within my expectations,” Li Yue said softly, her eyes downcast as if avoiding Clo’s gaze.
“You still ended up like this...” Clo looked at Li Yue, a look of internal struggle on her face.
“Everyone, dismiss.” Li Yue waved her hand. The rows of officials, servants, and nobles all withdrew together. None dared to delay; this was not just a powerful king, but the legendary Divine Lord.
Li Yue slowly walked toward Clo, a long crimson silk trail spreading behind her like the blood-soaked path she had traveled to get here.
“As you can see, this is my kingdom. From now on, it belongs to me,” Li Yue said calmly. “Only this way... can the myriad things of this world be corrected.”
