The white-robed god raised his right hand, palm facing upward.
Golden light gathered in his palm, condensing into a long spear of pure white.
He gripped the shaft and began to chant.
His voice was no longer calm; each syllable resonated with the laws of the God Realm.
“I decree, the spear in my hand shall pierce all that lies before it.”
The Holy Spear trembled slightly, a point of golden light igniting at its tip.
“I decree, all darkness shall eventually be annihilated.”
The golden light expanded, enveloping the entire spear. A holy aura surged toward the sky, dyeing the surroundings in a brilliant gold.
“I decree, the enemy before me shall be reduced to nothingness.”
The chant ended.
The white-robed god opened his eyes, which were now ablaze with golden light.
He pulled his arm back, his body coiled like a drawn bow, and then he hurled it forward!
The Holy Spear transformed into a streak of golden light, tearing through space as it shot directly toward Orosius.
Orosius’s pupils constricted.
He felt it. This strike was impossible to dodge.
It was a rule-level guaranteed hit; no matter where he fled or where he hid, this spear would track him down and pierce him.
Orosius grinned. “Interesting.”
He raised his hands and traced five consecutive magic circles in front of him.
Each magic circle was dark red, their edges wreathed in black lightning, radiating a heart-stopping aura of destruction.
The five circles stacked one behind the other, blocking the path of the Holy Spear.
The first circle held for a few seconds before shattering, followed in quick succession by the second and third.
The Holy Spear advanced with irresistible force, piercing the first three circles without its speed slowing in the slightest.
It wasn't until it collided with the fourth circle that the spear finally slowed by a fraction.
But it was only a fraction.
Crack!
Cracks appeared on the fourth magic circle before it violently exploded.
The Holy Spear slammed into the fifth circle.
Buzz!!!
Dark red and gold collided fiercely, erupting in a blinding light. The resulting shockwave leveled the already ravaged ground around them.
Orosius gritted his teeth, frantically pouring magic into the fifth circle.
The cracks on the circle grew more numerous and dense.
Finally.
Pfft!
The Holy Spear pierced the final line of defense and plunged into Orosius’s chest.
Boom!!!
The momentum of the spear carried Orosius backward, smashing through several floating mountains before he finally slammed into the continent below.
Then, the entire continent began to sink.
Seawater rushed in, submerging everything.
The white-robed god floated in the air, looking down at the sinking continent and sighing softly.
“Though innocent lives may be affected, I had to do this to stop this madman.”
He turned, preparing to leave.
But as he took a step, he froze mid-air.
He felt a familiar, violent aura coming from behind him.
“Impossible!”
Once this spear hit, the target was supposed to be pierced through the very level of existence. There should be no chance of survival!
The white-robed god spun around.
And there, he saw Orosius.
The demon stood ten meters behind him. There was a hole the size of a bowl in his chest, pierced clean through so that the scenery behind him was clearly visible.
Blood gushed from the wound, flowing down his body and pooling at his feet.
But he was still standing.
Not only was he standing, but he was also smiling.
“That strike… it really hurt.”
He raised his right hand and reached into the empty hole in his chest.
The sound of squelching flesh was sickening.
Then, he pulled out a sword.
A sword that was pitch-black from hilt to tip.
His own blood was still dripping from the blade.
“I’m returning the favor.”
The moment Orosius finished speaking, his figure vanished.
Before the white-robed god could even react, he felt a cold sensation in his chest.
He slowly looked down.
The pitch-black tip of a sword had emerged from the front of his chest.
The dark red patterns wreathed around the blade squirmed like living things, crawling into his body through the wound and frantically eroding his godhood.
The white-robed god let out a shrill scream, grabbing the blade with both hands in an attempt to pull it out.
But Orosius’s hand holding the sword remained motionless.
He gave the blade a slight twist.
Squelch!
More blood sprayed out.
His eyes bloodshot, the white-robed god raised his foot and kicked Orosius hard in the abdomen.
Bang!
Orosius was sent flying, and the sword was pulled out with him.
The white-robed god staggered back, clutching his chest as golden blood poured through his fingers.
He could feel those dark red patterns rampaging inside him.
“Madman…” He stared at Orosius, his voice trembling with pain. “You’re a complete madman…”
Without another word or hesitation, he transformed into a streak of golden light and vanished instantly.
He had fled.
Orosius did not give chase.
He simply stood there, watching the direction the god had disappeared. The massive hole in his chest healed at a rate visible to the naked eye.
A few seconds later, the wound was gone, leaving only a faint white scar.
“If I didn’t have this sword in my chest,”
Orosius wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and whispered to himself, “I really would have been finished today.”
He looked down at the pitch-black longsword in his hand.
The blade vibrated slightly, as if in response.
The Holy Spear’s rule had been mostly neutralized by this sword; otherwise, he would be a corpse by now.
“However,” Orosius grinned, “that fellow has been marked by my sword.”
The dark red patterns on the blade didn't just erode the target; they also left a special mark.
As long as the mark remained, he could sense the other party no matter where they fled.
“Now, things will be easier.”
He put away the sword and looked toward the depths of the God Realm.
“But for now, the main thing is to find the one trying to manufacture a Child of the World.”
A crimson light flashed in Orosius’s eyes.
“Daring to pull little tricks on my turf…”
He began walking toward the depths of the God Realm.
Behind him lay the sunken continent and the corpses of the God Realm's powerful guardians.
