After finishing her lunch, Lilith quickly returned to the classroom. After all, this afternoon was the practical magic class.
As time passed, more and more people filled the room.
Not long after, Arret walked into the classroom right on time.
“Good afternoon, students. This morning, we discussed the theoretical foundations of magic.”
“Now, it is time to turn theory into practice. Grab your things and follow me.”
The students immediately stood up and followed Arret out of the classroom tower.
After crossing a section of the campus, they arrived at a wide, open training ground.
“This is where you will be conducting your magic training for the foreseeable future.”
Arret stood in the center of the field, his gaze sweeping over the young, energetic faces before him.
“Before we begin specific magic instruction, I need to give you an understanding of the power systems of this world.”
He began to explain, “Generally, we divide individuals who possess extraordinary power into three mainstream systems.”
“The first is the Mage.”
Arret raised the short staff in his hand, and the crystal at its tip glowed faintly. “With powerful mental strength and magic as their core, they excel at high-intensity magical attacks. This is the path you will all be taking in the future.”
Many students nodded, their faces filled with pride and longing.
“The second is the Warrior.”
“They possess high-intensity physical bodies and excel at close combat. At the same rank, they can even withstand magical attacks to cut down their enemies.”
“And the third type,”
Arret’s voice rose slightly, “is the most special. They possess both the powerful magic output of a Mage and the formidable body of a Warrior. They are extremely rare.”
The students listened intently, their eyes filled with imagination regarding such powerful existences.
“Of course,” Arret changed the subject, “no matter which path you take, the basics are of the utmost importance.”
He lowered his staff, his hands hanging naturally at his sides. “Watch closely. This is one of the most basic magic application techniques: circulating magic within the body to enhance physical strength.”
“In this state, a mage can briefly possess the strength of a warrior. However, magic consumption will be extremely rapid. Unless you are in a face-to-face confrontation during battle, I do not recommend using it.”
The students immediately began to try following his instructions.
But from the results, it was clear that this seemingly simple method was not easy for beginners.
Karl’s performance was undoubtedly the best; a faint light already flickered around him, and his face was full of confidence.
His lackeys cast envious glances toward him.
Arret walked slowly among the students, offering pointers from time to time.
When he reached the back row, his footsteps paused slightly.
Lilith was doing the same as the others, but no magic was manifesting outwardly.
Arret sensed carefully, and a flash of surprise crossed his eyes.
Lilith’s magic was already flowing within her body, with no signs of leakage.
This was not a level a beginner should be able to reach!
“Could she have learned this before? No, that’s unlikely.” Arret suppressed the doubt in his heart for the moment, giving Lilith a deep look before continuing to inspect the others.
A few minutes later, Lilith was the first to finish her practice. She hadn't felt any enhancement and simply thought she couldn't learn it. In reality, her nearly infinite pool of magic kept her in a permanent state of enhancement.
She recalled the scene where Arret had casually used magic to construct a recommendation letter.
So, as Arret walked nearby, she raised her hand and asked like a curious child:
“Mentor Arret, I have a question.”
“Go ahead, Student Lilith.” Arret stopped in his tracks.
“That magic you used to manifest the recommendation letter that day... what was it?” Lilith’s eyes were bright, filled with a thirst for magic.
Arret was stunned for a moment, not expecting her to ask that. He then explained it to Lilith, noting that it was a high-level magic and very difficult to learn.
“Can I try?”
Lilith directly interrupted her mentor’s discouraging speech, her eyes full of eagerness to try.
Arret: “...”
He looked at Lilith’s expression.
Perhaps... for a true genius, the conventional pace didn't apply?
“Alright,”
Arret conceded. It wouldn't hurt to let her try, so he began to explain the principles of this magic.
Lilith nodded, extended her right hand, and began to condense her magic.
“What should I make?”
The image that surfaced in her mind was the style of the longsword she had borrowed from Elena.
Above her palm, the air began to distort slightly, and dark red magic began to flow.
Arret had originally intended to watch from the side just to let her experience the difficulty, but in the next second, his eyes widened instantly.
In Lilith’s palm, magic was rapidly constructing a blood-red longsword. The entire process was incredibly smooth.
This... how is this possible?! Arret was shocked to his core.
Not only was it a success, but it was a nearly perfect first-time construction. What kind of terrifying magic control did this require?
The surrounding students were also drawn to the commotion and looked over. When they saw the longsword in Lilith’s hand, they were all dumbfounded.
Lilith opened her eyes and looked at the sword in her hand, a novel sensation bubbling up inside her.
She couldn't resist wanting to swing it to test the feel.
She gripped the hilt and naturally performed a forward slashing motion.
Just as the blade was about to cut through the air, Lilith’s past experiences suddenly flashed through her mind.
She remembered the thousand-meter ravine she had carved out with a casual swing in the forest, and her own massive amount of magic.
She quickly cut off the connection to the sword.
The longsword dissipated after only completing half of the swing.
Lilith remained in the sword-swinging posture, a drop of cold sweat forming on her temple.
That was close...
Arret was also momentarily stunned by her sudden, abrupt stop, but a moment later, he gave his evaluation.
“Excellent.”
Arret took a deep breath, suppressing the turmoil in his heart.
“To reach this level of completion on your first try... your talent and control are indeed staggering.”
Lilith quickly lowered her hand and nodded obediently. “Yes, Mentor, I understand!”
Arret nodded and said no more, turning back to continue guiding the other students.
Lilith breathed a sigh of relief and patted her chest. That was terrifying; she had almost caused another disaster.
