Chapter 101 · Volume 1

The End

Lilith gripped the Holy Sword, feeling the warm and divine power flowing through her palm.
This power was foreign, yet strangely familiar.
“The Holy Sword...”
Lilith whispered to herself, her gaze gradually sharpening with determination.
She didn't know why this sword had appeared in her hand, nor did she know where it had come from.
But she knew that now was not the time to ponder such things.
The battle was still raging over there.
“I have to go back.”
Lilith took a deep breath, turning to look behind her.
There stood the entrance to the Void Rift.
The dark purple vortex swirled slowly, emitting a faint light.
Lilith’s figure transformed into a streak of crimson light as she charged into the rift.
...
The dizziness of traversing the rift struck her once again.
But this time, Lilith did not resist. Instead, she allowed the force to drag her along, hurtling through the void.
She didn't know how much time had passed—it could have been a second, or it could have been a year.
Suddenly, her vision brightened.
The darkness vanished, replaced by a familiar sight: the Eternal Abyss.
But the Eternal Abyss was no longer what it once was.
The rock walls were shattered, the ground was cracked, and the air was thick with the heavy scent of decay.
Golden light and black sword-light collided repeatedly in the air, erupting in deafening roars.
With every collision, the entire abyss shook, causing the walls to crumble and debris to fall.
Lilith steadied herself and looked toward the battlefield.
Then, her heart sank.
The God King had fallen to the ground.
His divine armor was shattered, revealing mangled, bloody wounds beneath.
A massive hole gaped in his chest, blood gushing out like a spring and staining the ground crimson. His right hand still gripped his golden longsword, but the blade was covered in cracks, looking as if it might shatter at any moment.
And his aura was so faint it was almost imperceptible.
The power of the Primordial God was nearly exhausted.
Ten minutes—only a few seconds remained.
Standing before the God King was that black shadow.
It wasn't in good shape either.
Its body was riddled with holes, and a black liquid leaked from the wounds, dripping onto the ground with a sizzling, corrosive sound.
The World-Devouring Sword in its hand was also covered in cracks, and the dark aura on the blade had grown thin, as if it were on the verge of collapsing.
But it was still standing. It still held its sword.
The shadow raised the World-Devouring Sword, aiming it directly at the God King’s chest.
The tip of the sword trembled slightly, but it was steady.
Steady enough to make one’s blood run cold.
Lying on the ground, the God King looked at the blade, a bitter smile tugging at the corners of his mouth.
“In the end... did I lose...”
He whispered to himself, his eyes holding no fear, only regret.
Regret that he couldn't win.
Regret... that he couldn't protect the God Realm.
But just then...
Lilith suddenly appeared in the distance, holding the golden Holy Sword. Her entire body radiated dark red magic, making her look like a ball of burning fire.
In the next instant, she appeared right in front of the shadow.
She raised the Holy Sword and thrust it forward with all her might.
Like a dagger, it pierced straight into the shadow’s neck.
“Squelch!!!”
Black liquid erupted, splashing all over Lilith.
The shadow’s body stiffened, and the World-Devouring Sword nearly fell from its grasp.
It frantically raised its other hand, reaching for Lilith’s neck.
Seeing this, Lilith instead took a step forward, driving the Holy Sword even deeper.
Then, using every ounce of her strength, she rocketed toward the sky.
“What... do you think you’re doing...”
The shadow rasped, its voice filled with rage.
Lilith didn't answer.
She simply gripped the Holy Sword embedded in the shadow’s neck and continued her ascent.
Through the shattered rock walls, through the drifting smoke and dust, through the endless darkness.
Finally, she stopped.
She stopped at the highest point of the Eternal Abyss.
She stopped amidst the dense swarm of shadows.
Those shadows surrounded her and the entity like a tide, snarling and roaring as they lunged toward her.
She only looked down at the shadow before her, a cold smirk playing on her lips.
“Let’s go to hell... together.”
She whispered, and then, she detonated all of her magic.
...
Time seemed to stand still at that moment.
The shadows stopped their roaring, and even the Eternal Abyss itself ceased its trembling.
Then—
“BOOM!!!”
A dark red light, like a sun, exploded at the highest point of the Eternal Abyss.
Everywhere the light touched, everything was consumed.
The Eternal Abyss, a forbidden zone that had existed for countless eons, neared total collapse at this moment.
And at the center of that light, Lilith’s form transformed into the purest energy, expanding outward in all directions.
...
The God King lay on the ground, watching the wave of energy that was about to reach him.
Grit teeth, he struggled to his feet.
He immediately used the last of his strength to dash toward the exit of the Eternal Abyss.
The dark red light surged like a tide, consuming everything in its path.
The God King could even feel the scorching heat pressing against his back.
“Just a bit faster... just a bit faster...”
He screamed in his heart, desperately driving his divine power.
Finally, at the very moment the light was about to swallow him, he burst out of the Eternal Abyss.
“BOOM!!!”
A deafening roar erupted behind him.
The God King looked back to see the gates of the Eternal Abyss collapsing into fragments within the light.
And the abyss behind the gates also crumbled into nothingness within the radiance.
Everything was over.
...
The God King lay on the ground, staring at the collapsed Eternal Abyss, the dissipating light, and the empty void.
His injuries were heavy, but his heart was heavier.
Lilith... was dead.
To destroy the shadow and end it all, she had chosen self-destruction.
She had traded her life for victory.
“Heh...”
The God King let out a bitter chuckle and closed his eyes.
But at that moment, he sensed a familiar aura.
The aura was very faint, but it was clear.
It was coming from... right beside him.
The God King snapped his eyes open and looked to his side.
And there, he saw Lilith.
She was lying on the ground with her eyes closed, her breathing steady as if she were merely asleep.
There were no wounds on her body, no blood, and even her clothes were perfectly intact.
It was as if everything that had just happened was only a dream.
“This...”
The God King was stunned.
He reached out and touched Lilith’s face.
She was alive!
“Time... reversal...”
The God King murmured to himself, finally understanding.
At the moment of her self-destruction, Lilith had activated time reversal.
She hadn't reversed the time of the entire world, but rather her own state.
And so, she had returned to life.
“Truly a... lunatic...”
The God King said softly, yet a smile tugged at the corner of his mouth.
...
Lilith opened her eyes and saw the sky.
It wasn't the dark sky of the Eternal Abyss, but the blue sky and white clouds of the God Realm.
She lay on the ground without wounds, without pain, and without even a hint of exhaustion.
It was as if everything that had just happened was only a dream.
She sat up and looked to her side.
The God King was lying on the ground, looking at her with a complex expression.
“Are you... okay?” Lilith asked.
The God King shook his head.
“I'm fine. But you... are you alright?”
Lilith nodded.
“I'm fine.”
She paused for a moment and then asked, “What about the shadow?”
“Dead,” the God King said. “The Eternal Abyss has collapsed as well. Everything... is over.”
Lilith was silent for a moment, and then she smiled.
It was a smile of relief, a smile of ease.
“That’s good.”
She stood up, brushed the dust off her clothes, and looked into the distance.
There lay the sky of the God Realm, the sunlight, the clouds, and freedom.
“Finally... it’s over,” she whispered, then turned to leave.
The God King watched her departing back and did not try to make her stay.
He knew she didn't belong here.
She belonged to the Demon Realm, to freedom, and to herself.
“Goodbye, Lilith,” the God King said softly, then closed his eyes.
...
The Demon Realm.
Demon King City.
Lilith sat upon her throne, looking down at the demons below, a smile playing on her lips.
“I have returned.”
She spoke softly, yet her voice echoed throughout the entire Demon King City.
The demons knelt on the ground, shouting in unison:
“We welcome the return of Her Majesty the Demon King!”
Lilith nodded.
Even though the Eternal Abyss had collapsed, the shadow had vanished, and everything had ended...
She knew her journey was not yet over.
“From this day forth, the Demon Realm shall be overseen by Calamity Veen. I am going on an interstellar journey to find a place called Earth.”
She spoke softly, and then she closed her eyes.
