Chapter 564 · Volume 1

Analysis

Eirin! You're finally here!!
Seeing Eirin jump down from the hatch, Kaguya shouted with excitement and rushed toward her. In such a critical moment, the arrival of the person she relied on most brought a different kind of relief.
"Ah... it took some effort, but I managed to get in just before the canopy completely sealed. So, without further ado, what's the situation?" Eirin casually patted the head of the Kaguya who had lunged at her and turned her gaze toward Suwako.
"It’s not looking good. Although that fellow has used the vast majority of her power to create this canopy, we still can't defeat her. Right now, Uka-no-Mitama-no-Mikoto is holding the line over there, but she definitely won't be able to stall for much longer." As Suwako spoke, she looked toward the distant battlefield where the giants clashed. Massive tremors and thundering roars echoed as swaths of white crystalline forests were crushed into a shimmering white mist that scattered through the air. Within that mist, two colossal figures were still locked in a fierce struggle.
"Uka-no-Mitama-no-Mikoto... she's actually managed to hold out against Chang'e for this long?" Following Suwako's gaze, Eirin murmured in disbelief. Clearly, Miketsu's tenacity against the Moon Feather Princess had exceeded her expectations.
"With such prolonged close-range contact with Chang'e, her godhead should have reached its limit long ago..." Based on her long-term research into Chang'e's power, Eirin was astonished that Miketsu could still fight the Moon Feather Princess.
"Yeah, that girl has more than one or two peculiarities anyway; a few more won't hurt. But no matter how special she is, she can't defeat Chang'e alone... Omoikane, since you risked everything to rush in here, I assume you have a plan?" Suwako looked directly at Eirin as she spoke. Eirin responded with a faint smile.
"More or less..."
"Eh? Eirin, do you really have a way for us to defeat that rabbit monster? What is it?" Hearing Eirin's words, Kaguya asked curiously. Eirin responded directly.
"It's not about us defeating Chang'e, but rather letting those who can deal with her come inside. I intend to deactivate this False Canopy and allow the Chief Gods outside to strike at Chang'e directly!" Eirin pointed toward the pitch-black sky as she spoke. Both Kaguya and Suwako were stunned by her words.
"Deactivate the canopy? That's impossible, isn't it? If so many Chief Gods outside can't do anything to it, how could we?" Suwako asked in shock. Eirin answered calmly.
"Note that I didn't say 'destroy' the canopy, but 'deactivate' it. This canopy is also an alien jutsu-shiki based on Chang'e's power. Since it is a technique, there is a way to undo it."
"Deactivate Chang'e's technique... Hah, you really have quite the imagination. But don't forget, you said yourself that this Celestial Jutsu-shiki is based on Chang'e's power. We would need to be able to control that power to deactivate the technique. Is there anyone in this world besides Chang'e herself who can use her power?" Suwako pressed further, raising her doubts without reservation. Eirin answered confidently.
"Of course there are. After Chang'e was sealed on the moon in the Primeval Era, the ancient moon rabbit civilization created vessels to house her in an attempt to save her, using the biological medium she left behind. These were the Priestesses of Chang'e. After the ancient moon rabbit civilization perished, the lunarians and I used the remains of a Priestess of Chang'e as a template to clone the Moon Princesses. Therefore, both Moon Princesses are effectively Priestesses of Chang'e; they can utilize her power." As she spoke, Eirin's gaze swept over the two Kaguyas. They were both stunned by her words and exchanged looks.
"Priestesses of Chang'e...? If that's the case... then it might indeed be possible to interfere with her jutsu-shiki." Suwako looked at the two Kaguyas and nodded in contemplation. Eirin then continued.
"So, my plan is to analyze the structure of Chang'e's Celestial Jutsu-shiki, and then the two princesses will use their own energy to interfere with it from the inside and attempt to deactivate it. We don't even need to deactivate it completely. As long as we can make the technique unstable, the Chief Gods outside will be able to shatter it and come in to deal with Chang'e together." Eirin looked back toward the distant battlefield.
"There are two difficult points in this plan. First, analyzing the structure of the Celestial Jutsu-shiki is hard, but I have a method for that; the frog god just needs to cooperate with me in a moment. Second, we must keep Chang'e constantly engaged so she focuses all her energy on the battle in front of her. Especially when the princesses are interfering with the technique, she must not be allowed to pull away. This task can only be entrusted to Uka-no-Mitama-no-Mikoto. To assist her, I specifically brought the Nine-Tailed Fox down with me. Compared to those gods and Buddhas, a powerful yokai will be more effective against Chang'e." Eirin said, looking at Tamamo-no-Mae.
"Uka-no-Mitama-no-Mikoto is currently in a bitter struggle. Could you go help her immediately and buy us enough time?"
"I was already in her debt. Besides, from what you've said, if this war against that monster is lost, the whole world will suffer. I cannot remain a bystander." Tamamo-no-Mae turned toward the distant battlefield.
"You'd better be quick. We can't stall her forever." After saying that, Tamamo-no-Mae flew off toward the battlefield. Eirin breathed a long sigh of relief.
"Alright, since that's settled, let's begin on our end. First, I need to analyze the architecture of this Celestial Jutsu-shiki. I've studied Chang'e's power for centuries; based on my past experience, I should be able to analyze it in a short time. However, I'll need your help." Eirin spoke to Suwako, who looked puzzled.
"My help? What can I do to help you analyze a technique?" Suwako asked, knowing she wasn't the type for research.
"Yes. I am the one who will analyze the technique. In a moment, I will use Omoikane's Eye to analyze the False Canopy above us. However, during this process, I will inevitably suffer contamination from Chang'e's power. It will erode my mind and soul, turning me into a mindless husk in a short time—a part of Chang'e under her control." Eirin pointed to her own head.
"What I need you to do is this: during my analysis, the moment I show symptoms of erosion, you must immediately use a method that attacks both the soul and the body to completely crush my head and kill me. I will then regenerate a new head that hasn't been corrupted and continue. By repeating this, I can accumulate the analysis progress."
Eirin finished her explanation nonchalantly. Suwako stood frozen in place, her mouth twitching for a moment before she managed to speak.
"You immortals really have a... unique way of thinking."
