Chapter 33 · Volume 1

Ogre Unleashed!

“Ogre?!” Folke, riding atop the gryphon, let out a cry of surprise.
The gryphon summoned by Beast Imprint could not execute Folke's commands very well. Consequently, even though its strength was completely overwhelming, it had been unable to defeat the giant goblin before them.
“Why did you come over here!” Watching Ogre approach step by step, Folke quickly called out from the sky to warn him, while reaching out his hand to command the Beast Imprint projection.
But Ogre was in an exceptionally strange state at this moment. Before Folke could even finish speaking, Ogre had already charged forward.
His speed had already surpassed that of many Professional Knights.
His spear thrust, his body lunged.
In the blink of an eye, Ogre had transformed into a streak of blue lightning, charging straight up.
In the next instant, the six-to-seven-meter-tall giant goblin crashed to the ground.
“Ankle Gouge!”
His spear moved like a tempest; in the blink of an eye, seven or eight sweeps slammed into the giant goblin's heels.
With its tendons severed, the giant goblin naturally fell to the ground in agony.
As the giant goblin fell to a half-kneeling position, Ogre dodged back, releasing his hands from the spear. The weapon remained planted in the ground, standing upright from the momentum.
Immediately after, Ogre slapped his right bracer with his left hand, violently pulling out a cord.
At the same time, he leaped into the air, stepping on the spear's butt-end.
The spear deformed and snapped back to its original state.
Ogre seized the momentum to catapult himself upward—at this moment, he was like a swiftly fired arrow.
In the split second before he began to descend, Ogre flicked the cord he had pulled out downward, perfectly wrapping it around the spear that had sprung back up, pulling the weapon with him into mid-air.
Flipping in the air, he caught the spear, spun around—and thrusted!
The newly-kneeling giant goblin had never expected this little blue figure to spring before its eyes so rapidly!
The spearhead, crackling with blue electricity, loomed larger and larger in its vision.
To reach out now was already too late!
The lightning erupting from the spear's tip burst violently as it made contact with the giant goblin's eyelid.
Electric arcs exploded in all directions, and the spear sank deep into the skull.
“Roar—!”
Splattering green blood everywhere, the excruciating pain drove the giant goblin into a frenzy. It reached out wildly, desperately trying to crush the little bug hopping on its face.
But to Ogre, who had unleashed his Heartbeat Drum, this movement appeared incredibly slow!
By the time the swatting hand arrived, Ogre had already pulled out his spear, dodging away like a nimble mosquito before the strike could connect.
Withdrawing his spear, he stomped hard on the giant goblin's eyelid, using the leverage to leap.
He sailed right through the gaps of the giant goblin's fingers.
At the same time, two pouches filled with some unknown powder had somehow appeared in Ogre's hands.
Whoosh!
In the instant before landing, Ogre hurled the two pouches, aiming directly at the giant goblin, who had opened its mouth wide in pain.
As the giant goblin closed its mouth, Ogre touched down from mid-air.
He performed a roll to absorb the impact.
When Ogre looked up again, two black iron nails had appeared in his hands. A surge of electricity crackled over them, turning the spots where Ogre gripped the nails slightly red.
Whoosh!
With a violent flick of Ogre's wrist, the iron nails sliced through the air, turning into two black streaks that shot straight into the giant goblin's mouth as it opened once more.
By now, with the giant goblin's instinctive mouth movements, the mixed powders from the two pouches had already dispersed and filled its mouth.
The moment the electrified, scorching-hot iron nails made contact, an explosion occurred.
Boom—!
With a thunderous roar, a violent flash of fire exploded inside the giant goblin's mouth. The fierce shockwave completely threw off its balance.
The giant green colossus, already half-kneeling on the ground, completely collapsed.
Thud! The sound of its body crashing against the ground was like a minor earthquake.
Yet Ogre's onslaught was still not over.
With the giant collapsed, Ogre no longer needed a secondary leverage to jump. He leaped directly onto its body.
Laid bare before Ogre was the giant goblin's exposed chest!
He raised his spear.
“Ogre!” When Folke's voice echoed again, Ogre had already been drenched in green... soaked from head to toe in the giant goblin's blood.
From unleashing his Heartbeat Drum and initiating his assault to killing this behemoth, Ogre had taken less than a minute.
Thump! Thump... Thump...
Hearing Folke's shout, Ogre crawled out of the giant goblin's chest cavity. He held his spear in one hand and pressed his other against his own chest.
Gradually, the drumbeat of his heart faded.
Ogre's heartbeat slowly decelerated, and the sporadic sparks of electricity dancing across his body ceased to appear.
Ogre deactivated his technique, returning to his normal state.
Only the colossal goblin corpse behind him, which still retained its residual warmth, stood as a testament to the youth's terrifying power.
“Folke, please take Serandic and leave first...” Ogre said, looking at the gryphon beneath Folke.
“Alright.” Folke had been waiting on the side, originally intending to help Ogre, but everything had happened too quickly, too shockingly. Only now did he finally regain his senses.
Folke had occasionally heard of apprentices defeating Professionals.
But if someone had told him that the powerful giant goblin before him had been killed by an apprentice using sheer raw strength, Folke would never have believed it before today.
He knew better than anyone else how difficult this malformed green monster was to fight.
Even when controlling the gryphon phantasm, which possessed the power of wind, he had been unable to kill it directly.
Because the giant's body was simply too massive. While defeating or repelling it was possible, killing it was not something Folke could achieve in a short amount of time.
He even had to constantly watch out for that club smashing down on his head.
Yet, this youth before him had actually done it all by himself!
And moreover—it was a complete slaughter.
“Y-Young Master!”
Lange, who was carrying Serandic on his back while fighting his way out, was also stunned when he saw the gryphon descend.
“Hand him over to me! I'll fly him back on the gryphon!” Folke cut straight to the point and reached out his hand.
Seeing this, Lange quickly helped hoist Serandic onto the gryphon.
Though he was usually quite arrogant, when it came to his friend's life, he was extremely cautious and gentle.
At the end of the day, they were just youths who had never witnessed much life-and-death parting. It was precisely because they had not seen much of the world's cruelty that the chivalry of youth was often the most pure.
Once Serandic was secured, the gryphon flapped its wings and took flight under Folke's command.
The airflow kicked up by the massive wings sent dust and stones flying everywhere, causing Lange to instinctively raise his arm to shield his eyes.
By the time he lowered his arm, he realized the gryphon was already high in the air.
“I hope that blonde kid makes it...” Lange muttered to himself as he let his hand drop.
Only after speaking did Lange think to turn his head to look back at the battle in the village. He wanted to know why his young master had returned so quickly.
Had Ogre held back the giant goblin?
Was this guy really that strong when going all out? Not only could he kill Professional Knights, but he could even fight a monster like that.
“Whoa!” Lange was still speculating about the battle behind him in his head, but the moment he turned around, he instinctively raised his sword forward in alarm.
The sole reason Lange was so startled was because he saw a green figure standing before him.
He had thought another goblin had appeared.
“It's me,” Ogre said, shaking the blood off his spear and taking off his mask.
The face beneath the mask was not as ridiculously green, although some green blood had seeped through the small holes of the mask. On the whole, Ogre's face was still recognizable.
“Where is that monster...” Hearing Ogre's voice, Lange let out a sigh of relief. At the same time, he couldn't help but curse silently, Why does this guy never make any noise when he walks?
Then, Lange's gaze bypassed Ogre, who had become a 'green man,' and looked behind him.
And then—he froze completely.
His voice turned stiff and stuttering.
“Y-You... you... you!”
In the distance, Lange spotted the terrifying giant goblin.
Except now, the terrifying creature lay dead on the ground, its flowing blood staining the earth green...
“Did you... kill this?!”
