Chapter 527 · Volume 1

Won't Lend, Kill You All

Borrowing people?
For a moment, they didn't doubt the visitor's mouth, but their own ears.
Had they heard wrong?
The demon son of the demon race was here to borrow people?
However, they quickly regained their composure.
It wasn't hard to guess. He was likely here for revenge. Had the Tianyan Sect offended him or killed some of his friends and family?
That seemed reasonable.
In the chaotic battle yesterday, they had killed plenty of demons.
They were just merit points, after all.
Still, to come alone seeking vengeance—that level of courage was worth some encouragement.
The young sect master of the Tianyan Sect walked out from the crowd with steady steps, looking on with great interest.
"Oh, this is certainly a novelty. I really would like to know how the demon son of the Demon Abyss plans to borrow them, and who exactly he wants to borrow."
The disciples of the Tianyan Sect stood their ground with confidence. They also wanted to hear what kind of play the demon son was trying to pull.
Xu Xian symbolically pulled a scroll from his robes and flicked it open with one hand. Casting a sidelong glance at it, he began calling out names one by one.
"Lin Suxing."
"Han Zuishi."
"Zhou Qingning..."
"..."
One name after another rang out, each more familiar than the last. The crowd gradually grew restless, and the expressions of the leaders, including the young sect master, slowly darkened.
As Xu Xian continued his roll call, the atmosphere underwent a subtle shift.
These names were far too familiar.
They were either core disciples of the Tianyan Sect or direct blood descendants of the sect's elders and ancestors.
Some were even famous geniuses of the sect whose names were known far and wide.
In short, they fell into two categories.
One: talent monsters.
Two: background monsters.
Only one thought remained in their minds—Bai Mang was here to pick a fight.
Nothing else.
Xu Xian rattled off more than thirty names in one breath, leaving Chi Ji in the distance completely bewildered.
She hadn't heard of a single one of those names.
However, judging by the reactions of the Tianyan Sect members, these people must be very famous within their sect.
After finishing the list, Xu Xian closed the scroll but deliberately added one more.
"Oh, right. There's one more missing—you, the young sect master of the Tianyan Sect."
"Gu Xunquan!"
The gaze of most Tianyan Sect disciples fell upon Gu Xunquan.
Gu Xunquan's eyes turned sinister as he sneered, "And what if I don't lend them? What will Your Excellency do then?"
Xu Xian narrowed his eyes slightly. "If you won't lend them, then I'll just thrash you."
His tone was as calm as a light breeze, but his words were more arrogant than the heavens themselves.
Gu Xunquan laughed.
Those whose names had been called laughed as well.
The thousands of disciples of the Tianyan Sect joined in the laughter.
Thrash us?
With what?
With that face of yours?
Gu Xunquan mocked, "The demon son of the Demon Abyss is truly boastful. You're going to thrash us? Just you?"
Xu Xian said lazily, "It's enough to deal with the likes of you."
"Want to try?" Gu Xunquan provoked.
Xu Xian simply shrugged without a word. His attitude, however, spoke for itself: if you want to try, then let's try.
Within the Tianyan Sect, a man who was originally at the fifth stage stepped out from the crowd. Full of confidence, he volunteered, "Young Sect Master, let me meet him. I'll show this ignorant fool how high the sky is and how vast the earth is."
Gu Xunquan smiled and gave a silent nod of approval.
The man held an iron staff in his hand and glared coldly at the youth. "Demon filth Bai Mang, do you dare to fight me?"
Xu Xian, still crouching there, gave a light beckoning gesture and provoked, "Come!"
Without another word, the man charged forward with his staff. Under the watchful eyes of everyone, he used his momentum to leap straight toward Xu Xian atop the white bones.
The disciples from the four provinces cheered and shouted wildly.
"Kill him!"
"Smash him to death!"
The attacker swung his staff horizontally, not forgetting to let out a roar. "Take a hit from your grandpa!"
Xu Xian sat firmly at the peak of the white bones, motionless. The contempt in his eyes was plain for all to see.
As the staff swung through the air, about to slam into his forehead.
He remained unperturbed, even finding the time to criticize.
"Too slow!"
And then...
The scene flickered as smoothly as a wallpaper transition.
When the people looked again, they saw a shocking sight.
The man's staff was now in the youth's hand, while the man himself was skewered upon it, hoisted high in the air.
He had been run through completely.
He was motionless as bright red blood slowly splattered down.
"This..."
"How is that possible?"
"So fast!"
"..."
Thousands of disciples stared in horror. It was too fast—so fast their eyes couldn't even register the movement before the man was already dead.
How did he die? How did the staff end up in his hand? How did he even do it?
If it were any other time, they might have felt some heart palpitations, but they wouldn't be this shocked.
But right now, everyone's cultivation was suppressed.
The only thing they could use was their physical strength.
The man who had just charged up was definitely considered one of the best among the Tianyan Sect members.
As the young sect master's personal guard, he had risen through slaughter since childhood and was naturally a master of brawling.
Yet today, the fight ended the moment he made his move.
Seeing the same scene, Chi Ji felt differently. She remembered that the seventh-stage little demon king of the Qing family had been skewered to death in exactly the same way.
Only back then, Xu Xian had used her immortal demon spear.
Xu Xian casually let go.
The man and the staff fell from the towering white bone peak, hitting the ground and lying motionless like a dead dog.
Producing a white handkerchief from somewhere, Xu Xian nonchalantly wiped the blood that had accidentally stained his palm.
Ignoring the crowd's terror, he spoke. "I'll give you one more chance. Are you going to lend me those people or not?"
They couldn't deny that Bai Mang's strength was indeed formidable.
But to hand himself over?
Gu Xunquan was no fool.
Furthermore, he didn't believe that one person could charge through this entire camp. There were thousands of people here.
However, out of biological instinct, he still chose to soften his stance slightly. "Impressive skills. The demon son of the Demon Abyss truly lives up to his reputation."
Xu Xian chuckled. "Heh, save the flattery. It won't work on me."
One person, enraged, barked out a reproach.
"Our Tianyan Sect has no grievance or enmity with Your Excellency. Why must you press us so hard?"
Xu Xian couldn't be bothered with nonsense. He slowly stood up, looking down from above and eyeing the entire field with disdain. "Three breaths. If you don't hand them over..."
He paused for a moment, his eyes turning icy and murderous as he spoke word by word.
"I'll kill you all!"
Arrogant.
He was more arrogant than anyone had ever been.
Gu Xunquan's gaze turned sinister as he gave the order, "Form ranks!"
The disciples drew their blades and swords.
They stood ready for battle.
Words were useless now; only a trial of strength would settle this.
Bai Mang was here to cause trouble. Compromise or retreat would be meaningless.
They might as well fight.
If they killed him, they would achieve instant fame.
Three breaths passed in the blink of an eye. In Xu Xian's hand, a long sword quietly appeared—a very long sword.
A high-tier heaven weapon.
A product of Xu Xian's own forging.
"You chose this yourselves..."
With those words, Xu Xian leapt down, his nine-foot long sword shimmering with a lethal chill.
He dove into the crowd, unleashing a storm of blood.
"Stop him!"
"All together!"
"Slay the demon with me!"
The crowd from the Tianyan Sect swarmed forward, intent on taking his head and inheriting his merit points. Those whose names had been called were especially filled with killing intent, opening with their most lethal moves.
Xu Xian was fearless as the great battle erupted.
Blades and swords clashed.
The ringing of metal on metal was incessant.
