Yuer let out a long sigh.
In the end, she just soaked there in the water by herself. She was too weak; there was nothing she could do...
She felt helpless. She was so weak that she couldn't do anything, much less stop anything from happening.
Yuer sighed again, her mind involuntarily drifting to what might be happening between Su Qing and Chang'e at that very moment. The more she thought about it, the more chaotic her mind became, and a flush of red inevitably crept onto her face. Eventually, the crimson completely filled her features.
To cool her brain down, she gradually submerged her head beneath the surface of the hot spring... Unfortunately, it was a hot spring. The water was hot, so this method of cooling down was clearly not very effective. Left with no choice, all she could do was endure it.
Time ticked away, second by second. Before long, it was already the next morning.
The morning sunlight spilled into the room. The slight sensation of warmth caused the two people who had spent an absurd night in bed to slowly wake up.
Su Qing was the first to stir. She rubbed her head... and looked dizzily at the smooth, pale backside sticking up high beside her. Feeling helpless, she gave it a firm slap and pushed it aside.
"My head hurts."
Even for an immortal, a hangover headache was unavoidable.
'Last night... was truly too absurd,' Su Qing thought, rubbing her temples.
She naturally remembered what had happened. She had been drunk, not turned into an idiot. At the very least, she was in much better shape than Chang'e. It was only because she had drunk so much, combined with Chang'e's reckless behavior, that she had ended up bringing the other woman to 'justice' right then and there.
Su Qing sighed, thinking helplessly, 'I never thought... it would finally come to this. Honestly... I'm to blame too. I knew drinking too much might lead to trouble, yet I let her provoke me and went along with her nonsense. Hiss... that woman. Oh well, I wonder how she'll react when she wakes up.'
Su Qing knew that what had happened could not be changed, so she didn't let the matter weigh too heavily on her mind. She simply shook her head slightly and climbed out of bed, waving her hand to clear the marks from her body...
As for what kind of marks... Well, to use a term from the future? Hickeys? That woman was quite ridiculous; even with a body as resilient as Su Qing's, she had managed to leave hickeys all over. It was... quite unreasonable.
Of course, clearing such marks was simple. A small application of magic restored her skin completely. As for why she needed to clear them? Naturally, it was because if she went to get her clothes while naked and Yuer saw them, things would become quite awkward.
And if you were to ask why she didn't just take things out of her Sleeve Universe? Did you even need to ask? She was stark naked; where was she supposed to find a sleeve? The Sleeve Universe was very useful, but its utility had limits—it required a sleeve to be cast! Therefore, since Su Qing was currently naked, she had nowhere to use the Sleeve Universe.
It was for this reason that Su Qing had to personally go to the hot spring to retrieve her clothes.
Fortunately, there was no one else here. Everyone present was a woman, and they were all her acquaintances. Otherwise, the situation would have been incredibly troublesome.
Su Qing quickly arrived at the hot spring. However, when she got there, she found Yuer still soaking in the water.
"How long have you been in there?" Su Qing asked, amused as she looked at Yuer, who looked like she had almost been boiled. "Look at your face—it's turned completely red. Even if soaking is comfortable, you can't stay in forever! Even if this is just a regular hot spring, it'll make you feel unwell if you stay too long. I bet... you fell asleep while soaking, didn't you?"
Yuer looked up blankly at Su Qing, her lip twitching slightly. "Sister Xiao Qing... can't you put some clothes on before talking to me?"
Hearing Yuer criticize her the moment she opened her eyes, Su Qing scratched her head, momentarily unsure of how to respond. After a moment of thought, she said, "You're one to talk! Aren't you naked too?"
At those words, Yuer snapped back to her senses and scrambled to stand up. But then it occurred to her that standing up would expose even more, so she immediately plunged her body back into the water, leaving only her head visible.
Seeing her panicked state, Su Qing found it quite funny. "The water is very clear; even if you hide in there, I can see everything! Really, don't be so embarrassed. I'm not a bad person! You don't actually believe those rumors from the Heavenly Court, do you?"
Hearing this, Yuer curled her lip, remembering the events of the previous night. "I do... of course I believe them! You did so many excessive things yesterday! Even my mistress was..."
Yuer stopped herself there, covering her mouth. She turned her gaze away, looking like someone trying to hide something that was already glaringly obvious.
Su Qing gave a helpless smile. "That... that was just a bit of an accident. Don't overthink it. I'm not the kind of person you think I am!"
Yuer let out a dry laugh, making it clear she didn't believe a single word.
Su Qing felt helpless and didn't bother explaining further. She simply said, "Sigh, I've been drunk all night and I'm exhausted. I think I'll soak for a bit too..."
The moment Su Qing said this, Yuer scrambled to get out. "Then I'll leave it to you!"
"Uh... that's really not necessary." Su Qing's lip twitched. This girl was really something. Why was she so afraid of her? Did she really think Su Qing was going to 'bring her to justice' on the spot? Yesterday's events could truly be categorized as an accident! Well, calling it an accident wasn't entirely accurate... in a sense, they had both brought it upon themselves.
"I... I just feel uncomfortable after soaking for so long, so I'm getting out. Don't misunderstand," Yuer said, quickly making up an excuse as she scrambled out of the water and hurriedly put on her clothes.
She looked at Su Qing with a flushed face and said, "That... um, I'm really not afraid of you. I'm just... just not prepared yet. Can we wait until I'm prepared next time to do that kind of thing?"
Yuer spoke timidly, as if she had been genuinely frightened. Su Qing smiled helplessly and sighed. "You..."
She really didn't know what to say to her. She simply waved her hand and said, "Fine, go play on your own. I'll get out after soaking for a bit. Oh, go check on Chang'e, will you? She should be about ready to wake up by now."
Hearing this, Yuer looked as if she had been granted a grand pardon and nodded quickly to Su Qing before fleeing the area.
Watching her go, Su Qing shook her head with a smile and muttered to herself, "That girl... she probably saw something yesterday, didn't she? Otherwise, she wouldn't have such a big reaction. But what she just said... hehe, she's definitely misunderstood something. Oh well, it's not the worst misunderstanding. I've been misunderstood for so many years anyway; a few more years won't matter."
With that thought, Su Qing stopped dwelling on it and simply gave her body a quick wash. Without Chang'e there to drink with her, she naturally didn't stay in the bath for long. After a brief soak, she got out.
Once she was dressed, Su Qing performed a hand seal to purify the pool water. As the used water was cleared, fresh water continuously replenished the spring. Having finished this, Su Qing took Chang'e's clothes and headed back.
When she returned to the room where they had rested and behaved so absurdly the day before, Yuer was feeding Chang'e an anti-hangover pill to help her regain some clarity and ease her headache.
However, Chang'e had drunk an immense amount the day before—even more than Su Qing—so she was naturally much more intoxicated. The effects of her hangover were bound to be even more ridiculous than Su Qing's. To be honest, given the amount she had drunk and the potency of that wine, any mortal would likely be a corpse by now. The fact that she only had a headache showed that while her tolerance was poor, she was resilient and hard to kill.
Su Qing looked at Chang'e and said with a beaming smile, "Sister Chang'e, you're awake?"
After swallowing the pill, Chang'e looked at Su Qing and said helplessly, "I've been awake for a while... but you, once you woke up, why didn't you call me? You just ran off to soak and relax by yourself, leaving me alone in bed in such a strange state, and even letting Yuer laugh at me."
Leaning against the doorframe, Su Qing found Chang'e's pained expression quite amusing. "Wasn't it because you were sleeping like a dead pig, Sister? I even slapped your face quite hard, and you didn't make a sound."
Chang'e's lip twitched. Had such a thing happened? She truly hadn't felt a thing. "That's no excuse for not calling me!" she said indignantly.
Su Qing chuckled and didn't pay much heed to the complaint. She simply tossed the clothes to her and said, "Alright, hurry up and get dressed. Even if there are only women here, being like this is a bit too unbecoming."
Yuer nodded in agreement. "Indeed, Mistress, being like this is a bit embarrassing."
Chang'e rolled her eyes. 'How did these two end up on the same side?' she thought. 'Damn it...'
However, she didn't refuse to put on her clothes. While she was quite open and casual, she wasn't so wild as to be ridiculous. She wouldn't go around without clothes all day; bathing was a special circumstance, and last night had been a special circumstance as well. But now that she was sober, she naturally had to be more normal and couldn't continue acting so recklessly.
Once she was dressed, Chang'e rubbed her throbbing head and said gloomily, "My head is killing me. Are these anti-hangover pills not working?"
Su Qing curled her lip. "You know perfectly well how good the pills are. You just drank way too much yesterday."
Chang'e shot her a glare. "You drank a lot too! Don't just talk about me! The pot shouldn't call the kettle black; we're both in the same boat."
Su Qing tilted her head with a smile. "There's still a difference between us!"
The two of them bickered just as they always did. Neither of them brought up the absurd events of the previous night. Was it because they both wanted to pretend they had forgotten? Of course not. It was only because Yuer was there; if they started talking about it, it would surely cause Yuer more distress. Although both of them could be somewhat heartless, they weren't so inconsiderate as to completely ignore the feelings of those around them.
Time passed quickly, and soon it was about time to leave.
Whether it was Su Qing, Chang'e, or even Yuer, they all had their own duties. While they could take breaks, they couldn't stay idle for long. Well, except for Chang'e... although she had things to do, her workload was incredibly light compared to Su Qing and Yuer.
As they were leaving, Chang'e couldn't help but complain, "It's so funny. Even after becoming immortals, we're still busy every day just like mortals. It's truly ridiculous."
Su Qing glanced at her and retorted, "It's not like you're that busy..."
"I'm very busy occasionally, okay?" Chang'e's lip twitched. She then performed a hand seal and said, "Alright, let's go. We'll travel together for a bit."
Su Qing naturally had no objection. She stepped onto Chang'e's Auspicious Cloud and accompanied her for a portion of the way. On the journey, the two of them were very quiet—so quiet that Yuer found it a bit unbelievable. 'Are these two really the type of people who can be this quiet?' she wondered.
But what was the reality? They were, and they weren't. While their mouths weren't moving, they were chatting away via Sound Transmission... As for the content of their conversation? Naturally, it was stuff that wasn't suitable for Yuer's ears.
And so, they chatted the whole way. Soon, it was time for them to truly part ways.
Su Qing felt no reluctance. She just looked at Chang'e with a smile and said, "Sister Chang'e... if you're ever bored in the future, you can come find me. Don't make me be the one to find you every single time!"
"Do I look like a bored person to you?"
"If you're not a bored person, then who is?"
"..."
Chang'e was momentarily speechless. She waved her hand and said, "Fine, fine, I get it. I'll take the initiative to find you when I have the chance~ Hmph. Alright, I'm off! Head back on your own! Also, one last thing... little sister, you were quite good! I'm very satisfied."
As she spoke, she didn't forget to lick her lips. It was... quite seductive.
However, Su Qing was fully sober now. She was essentially immune to such tactics. She smiled and said, "What are you talking about now, Sister? Never mind, I'm leaving! See you next time!"
With that, she drove her cloud away. Watching her go, Chang'e chuckled and shook her head, muttering to herself, "I'll have to have some proper fun next time! What a coward!"
