“Who is that Angry Crow Takes Flight in first place? What region is she from? A score of 2870!? That’s almost 500 points higher than our Undying War Wolf Soul!”
“Our Wolf Bro is a solid second! He didn’t lose by much!”
“Black Feather? What kind of faction is that? I’ve never heard of it. Does anyone know anything about them?”
“This person isn’t from our partition, not even our grand region. How are we supposed to know?”
The regional channel was discussing Angry Crow, and the Watching the Great Wall faction was discussing her as well.
“This is the bigwig who got the full-server announcement.”
“I thought it was just a flash in the pan, but I didn’t expect her to take first place on the grand regional leaderboard.”
“We gave all our resources to Runsheng! And yet, we’re still firmly held down by this Angry Crow.”
“I guess, just like us, that faction, Black Feather, must have put all their resources into this Angry Crow. That’s the only way to pull such a huge lead.”
“That means this Black Feather is definitely not someone to be underestimated.”
“If only I had the chance to be in the same region as this person. I’d love to see the strength of this rank-one player for myself.”
...
Six of the top ten spots in the Dragon Country region were clearly held by official organizations.
Although they were in different partitions and couldn’t communicate, these names still acted as a shot in the arm for the survivors, bringing a glimmer of hope to those struggling on the edge of life and death.
Cheng Shuili stared at the leaderboard for a long time before it dawned on her that she probably had to claim the rewards herself.
She scrolled to the very bottom of the list and, sure enough, saw a claim option.
The reward for first place in the Dragon Country grand region! Claim it!
【Congratulations on receiving the “Dragon Country Grand Region Comprehensive Leaderboard First Phase First Place” reward! The reward has been issued!】
【Received: Title: Dragon Country Leader (Unique), Special Item: Spark of Civilization (Fragmented), Resource Pack: Cornerstone of the Nation!】
She got a unique title!
Full of anticipation, Cheng Shuili immediately checked the details of the title.
【Title: Dragon Country Leader (Unique)】
【Description: When equipped, all attributes increase by 5%. Initial favorability with all non-hostile NPC units within the Dragon Country grand region defaults to “Respect”. You enjoy a 10% discount when trading in all public areas within the Dragon Country grand region (Trading Posts, Beastman Town, Black Market, etc.). Additionally, this is proof of being the one-in-a-billion strongest in Dragon Country, symbolizing supreme glory and potential. Only the first-phase rank-one player can obtain this; even if the ranking changes later, this title remains unique.】
All attributes increase by five percent?
That means you would need to have a base of one hundred points to gain five points.
Although the Supreme Monarch title only adds three points, it raises base attributes to a normal person’s level, which is a total boost of twenty points! That counts as a total increase of twenty-three points across all attributes.
And the First Slayer adds ten points to all attributes.
Although the Dragon Country Leader title is decent, it doesn’t quite measure up to those two; it’s more of a title with limitless potential.
Let it gather dust along with those other flashy, useless titles from the partition leaderboards.
Next reward.
If you’re going to give a special item, why give a fragmented one?
【Spark of Civilization (Fragmented)】
【Description: After use, you can designate any manufacturing blueprint you have mastered, regardless of quality, to be permanently promoted to “Legendary” quality. The promoted blueprint will retain the original blueprint, and the “Legendary” blueprint obtained through promotion will randomly gain an additional powerful special effect that fits the blueprint. It seems to be a fragment of a much grander flame; faint, yet containing the light of wisdom that transcends the current era. Perhaps if you collect more fragments, you will discover its further uses. (1/7)】
Promote a manufacturing blueprint of any quality to “Legendary” quality?
Cheng Shuili stood up and apologized to the item—she had been too reckless!
But... Legendary quality?
Do blueprints actually have such high quality levels?
With such high quality levels, the daily probability of improvement success is only 5%.
Cheng Shuili covered her eyes with her hand, unable to bear thinking about it any further.
Does the system think they are ancient tortoises that live for ten thousand years? With long enough lifespans to live until the day they can gamble their way to the highest quality blueprint?
Cheng Shuili sighed softly, her gaze returning to the item called Spark of Civilization, her heart beating uncontrollably.
This thing...
It must be a one-time use, right?
Or rather, it is definitely a one-time use. Something this overwhelmingly powerful cannot possibly be used indefinitely.
How to use it must be considered with extreme caution.
Her gaze swept slowly across the list of blueprints she owned, her brain whirring at high speed, weighing the pros and cons.
Water is the source of life, but her existing devices already met her basic needs; promoting the water condensation device seemed like using a sledgehammer to crack a nut, with low cost-effectiveness. Food sources were equally important but not irreplaceable; a legendary trap might catch stronger prey, but it felt small-scale, as did the sunroom.
The air conditioner and washing machine blueprints were the first ones Cheng Shuili ruled out.
She wasn’t extravagant enough to waste such a precious opportunity on improving living conditions.
The multifunctional artisan workshop blueprint wasn’t even on the manufacturing blueprint list, so it didn’t need to be considered. Items made from the leather armor blueprint could only be used by servants. As for the remaining few, they were blueprints for surviving in specific environments; even if promoted to “Legendary” quality, they would likely only make their existing functions more effective.
After filtering through them, Cheng Shuili’s gaze landed on the Fuel Purification Device blueprint.
The effect of this blueprint is to increase fuel efficiency and reduce consumption.
“At present, the development of Black Feather, and even the activities of survivors in the entire highway world, are heavily dependent on vehicles. Fuel is absolutely hard currency.”
She pondered, “What would the effect of a Legendary-quality Fuel Purification Device be? Would it raise fuel combustion efficiency to the extreme, near perpetual motion? Or... would it simply create a new kind of permanent energy?”
Whether it was the former or the latter, it made her breathing quicken slightly.
Energy is the foundation that drives everything.
In this world where the highway is the pulse and vehicles are the lifeline, whoever masters more efficient and powerful energy masters the initiative of the future.
The potential of a Legendary-quality Fuel Purification Device is simply immeasurable.
It might thoroughly solve the plight of fuel shortages and perhaps even bring about a subversive technological revolution.
Regardless of the outcome, this is the blueprint Cheng Shuili is going to promote.
【Are you sure you want to use the special item “Spark of Civilization (Fragmented)” to promote the manufacturing blueprint “Fuel Purification Device (Refined)”? This operation is irreversible.】
“Confirm!”
As Cheng Shuili confirmed, that faint flame fragment, containing infinite wisdom, transformed into a stream of light and merged into the Fuel Purification Device blueprint.
In an instant, that blueprint erupted with a dazzling, brilliant golden light!
