Chapter 326 · Volume 1

Turning the Tables

Cheng Shuili pulled out a Designated Player Duel Card. As long as this card could be used, Tu Dou Bro would have to pray for his own luck.
Before using it, she checked the time. After confirming that the acid rain period had passed, she decisively entered the ID.
Use successful!
The scenery outside the window shifted instantly. Cheng Shuili arched an eyebrow slightly and, through the car window, saw a motorhome parked on the side of the road.
Su Rui gripped Youlan and stepped out of the driver's cab with a foul look on her face. Her expression was less than pleasant, but her tone remained the same as always. Seeing Cheng Shuili, she asked, "Killing someone?"
Cheng Shuili didn't look back, staring at the motorhome as she said, "Maybe not, but the probability is quite high."
As an old top-ranked player who had survived since the server opened, she could infer a thing or two about the system's tricks or items she hadn't seen yet based on their specific performance.
Hearing this, Su Rui couldn't get excited even if she wanted to. She sighed and tried to reason with her in a calm voice, "Can you let me know next time before you use a card?"
Oh.
So she was angry about this.
Cheng Shuili looked at her with some surprise. "You didn't say anything before, so I thought you didn't mind."
Su Rui was choked up by these words. She really hadn't said anything, but her attitude had been quite obvious, hadn't it?
Thinking this, she suddenly realized her own problem.
Cheng Shuili wanted communication, while she only thought that the other person should have noticed her expressions.
This was too unfair to Cheng Shuili. In that moment, Su Rui probably thought about a lot of things. Finally, she gave a huffy laugh and urged, "Are we going or not? If we don't go, the person will run away."
Cheng Shuili replied leisurely, "Isn't that what I'm waiting for?"
The two got out of the car one after the other. The people in the motorhome seemed to have noticed the highway merge long ago. Seeing figures appear, they fired at the person in the lead.
"Bang!"
The bullet tore through the air, whistling with a bitter, biting wind.
Walking in the front was Cheng Shuili, wrapped in a cloak. She wasn't afraid of these things to begin with, not to mention that this shot had missed.
The bullet struck the door of the off-road vehicle, kicking up a few sparks.
Although it didn't cause any harm, it was enough to make the two lethargic people snap to attention.
Su Rui simply retreated back into the car. Cheng Shuili had that magical rebound device, but she didn't.
If she really died...
Su Rui paused, suddenly realizing her own change.
She seemed to be a bit reluctant to part with her life.
Cheng Shuili turned her head, just about to tell Su Rui to hide well, when she found that this person had already curled back inside.
She paused and immediately laughed in anger.
But this anger wasn't directed at Su Rui; it was aimed at the gunman inside that motorhome!
Cheng Shuili simply pulled out her own rifle, took a simple aim, and fired a burst.
Her marksmanship wasn't very good.
On top of that, she had spent all her time with Su Rui, not Ailin.
So, Cheng Shuili was only just starting with cold weapons, and her thermal weapons were truly not worth mentioning.
This resulted in her burst of bullets not hitting a single target.
Su Rui had been terrified at first, but seeing this, she couldn't help but laugh. She said, "Boss, I think I've found your weakness."
Cheng Shuili: "......"
She should have let this person be the vanguard!
Although she hadn't hit them, the psychological pressure caused by such a dense volley of bullets was not to be underestimated.
Although Cheng Shuili had plenty of bullets, she couldn't afford to waste them like this forever.
As she adjusted the muzzle to aim, the opponent suddenly stuck a white cloth out and waved it, then shouted loudly, "Surrender! I surrender!"
Cheng Shuili paused, this time truly laughing in anger.
He had fired the first shot! He was the one who attacked them first! Now that he realized the firepower here was too strong and he might not win, he was waving a white cloth to surrender?
Where was the logic in that?
It didn't end there. Seeing no response from this side, the opponent waved the white cloth in his hand again and shouted, "I've already surrendered! You wouldn't still refuse to let me go, would you? We're all of the same kind, why must we kill each other? You're from Black Feather, right? Did the Angry Crow send you?! Let's talk this over properly! There's nothing we can't discuss!"
Discuss?
If the opponent had said such things before firing, Cheng Shuili would absolutely have agreed, but now...
Well, that's too bad.
Cheng Shuili aimed carefully. She didn't have real combat experience in her previous life, but she had a friend who loved firearms, so she knew a little bit of theory.
She switched her rifle to single-shot mode and gently pulled the trigger.
A bullet flew from the muzzle, followed immediately by a scream!
A blind cat bumping into a dead mouse; this bullet had actually hit the opponent's arm.
Cheng Shuili watched with satisfaction as the opponent jerked his arm back. The caliber of this gun was large enough, and combined with the internal trauma caused by the bullet becoming unstable after entering the arm, his arm was effectively ruined.
"You... you have no integrity!" the person in the motorhome roared, his voice distorted by pain. "I already surrendered!"
Integrity?
Su Rui was good at that.
Cheng Shuili glanced at her from the corner of her eye. The other woman's face was ugly; she was clearly infuriated by the opponent's shameless behavior.
Before they could react, the man shouted on his own again, "Can't you hear me when I say I've surrendered? I'm coming out now, you put your weapons away too! Let's talk things over!"
These few sentences were already very uncomfortable, but the opponent didn't stop: "It's just two sentences I said after entering your faction, right? Is the Angry Crow really that narrow-minded? Do you really have to kill everyone? Believe it or not, I'll go to the regional channel and expose you! If this gets out, who will dare to join your Black Feather in the future? Do you even want to keep going?!"
A bullet was his only response.
Although it didn't hurt anyone, it served as a deterrent and a statement of their attitude.
The opponent finally went completely silent.
Cheng Shuili cleared her throat and finally spoke: "Integrity? When you fired a sneak attack, why didn't you think about integrity?"
The man in the motorhome seemed choked by these words. He didn't respond, only letting out stifled groans of pain.
Cheng Shuili poked her head out to check the situation, signaling Su Rui to continue calling out, while she herself crouched low and circled around the off-road vehicle to sneak toward the motorhome.
Cheng Shuili wanted to clarify the problem and then solve it. What kind of situation was this, staying in a stalemate like this?
"I... I was just nervous for a moment!"
The man in the motorhome finally spoke again, his voice carrying clear grievance and weakness, as if he truly felt that Cheng Shuili and the others were being unreasonable: "Seeing the highway merge and people suddenly appearing, I was scared! In this world, who doesn't strike first? Haven't you ever struck first?"
"When we strike, we don't miss," Su Rui replied coldly. "And we certainly don't cry and beg for mercy after attacking, only to turn around and blame us instead."
