Chapter 121 ยท Volume 1

Human Traffickers

Supplies can be stored here for now.
Cheng Shuili gazed toward the pitch-black corridor; now was the time to avenge herself against those two evil NPCs, Tiger Brother and Tiger Sister.
Oblivious, Tiger Brother and Tiger Sister were still chatting.
It was the first time these two beastmen had sent a living human inside, so they were inevitably a bit nervous.
"Giving her that long blade shouldn't be a problem, right?"
"Don't worry. Tiger Brother is a tiger after all, and he's much stronger now than before. Let's set our hearts at ease and just wait patiently."
"I understand what you're saying, but... Tiger Brother, don't you think it's been too long this time?" Tiger Sister was not comforted at all; instead, her expression grew even more anxious.
They had spent 50,000 game coins to forge five room keys. The system said it had distributed them, but no one knew exactly where they had gone.
This human was the first to show up with a room key.
This was also Tiger Brother's first time consuming fresh flesh; they absolutely could not afford for this to fail.
Even if they had to sell everything they owned, the siblings couldn't just watch their brother die.
"Nothing will go wrong. Before it was raw meat, but this time it's a living person, so it's normal for it to take a little longer."
Tiger Brother silently patted Tiger Sister's back. This was his usual comforting gesture, though he had previously only used it to comfort that troublesome brother of his.
Now, only this sister remained.
Tiger Sister nodded; what Tiger Brother said made sense.
The two beastmen could only wait patiently.
When Cheng Shuili pushed open the iron door, the sunlight made her squint.
Tiger Brother and Tiger Sister were standing not far away. Seeing her come out alive, a flash of astonishment crossed both their faces simultaneously.
This human came out?
Tiger Brother was so strong that it took both her and Tiger Brother working together to subdue him. A weak human...
How could she possibly come out of there alive?
There was only one possibility! Tiger Sister grabbed onto a straw of hope: Tiger Brother must not be interested in humans!
If that were the case, wouldn't their game coins have gone down the drain?
Tiger Brother's brain was simpler. Following his body's instinct, he blurted out, "You actually came out?"
Once the words left his mouth, Tiger Brother realized his slip of the tongue and hurriedly covered his mouth.
Cheng Shuili's fingertips still bore the black blood of the tiger demon.
She wiped her hands slowly, her gaze sweeping back and forth between the two panicked beastman faces: "It seems you are very disappointed?"
"No, it's not..." Tiger Sister forced a smile and backed away, "We just didn't expect..."
"Didn't expect me to come out alive?" Cheng Shuili suddenly erupted, the cold light of her long blade flashing across Tiger Brother's throat, "Or didn't expect me to kill that tiger demon in return?"
"Tiger demon?"
These two words stunned both beastmen.
Cheng Shuili felt no sympathy for these two; she repeated what had happened in the basement without any hesitation.
The more the two beastmen listened, the uglier their expressions became. Tiger Brother's hanging hands slowly clenched into fists, while Tiger Sister's face turned beet red with rage, her feet lifting and dropping several times.
Cheng Shuili had been prepared to come up and keep fighting, but seeing these two beastmen so enraged, she didn't initiate an attack and understood.
NPCs in the beastman town had good and bad ones. Good NPCs helped players and gave them items, like the police bureau chief.
Then there were bad NPCs like Tiger Brother and Tiger Sister who lured and deceived players! How was this deception any different from human trafficking in her previous world?
No matter where it was, human traffickers deserved to die!
Cheng Shuili frowned, her grip on the long blade tightening.
Tiger Brother had practiced martial arts for years and knew her intentions the moment he saw her movement.
He wasn't afraid at all; instead, he threw his head back and laughed.
The laughter was somewhat manic. The original annoyance and hatred on his face vanished, replaced by a sense of glee that said, "If I'm not doing well, you aren't doing any better."
Cheng Shuili paused, only to hear the two beastmen say in an incredibly arrogant tone, "So we deceived you, so what?"
Tiger Brother spread his hands, "Beastmen cannot attack humans, but conversely, humans are also forbidden from attacking beastmen!"
"We deceived you. You took such a huge risk, yet in the end, you won't get a single game coin. Are you angry?"
Tiger Sister had been upset, but hearing Tiger Brother's words, she became happy too, "That's right, being angry is useless! What can you possibly do to us?"
"What can I do to you?"
Cheng Shuili repeated the question, silently sliding her long blade into its sheath.
She checked the time. She had less than twenty minutes left in the beastman town. If she was fast, it would be enough.
Tiger Sister couldn't understand the nuance of human speech and could only barely grasp the intent.
Her tail curled proudly in the air, and she stood with her hands on her hips, speaking brazenly, "Not only can you do nothing to us, but you'll have to come here to spend money in the future! And you'll have to buy weapons from Tiger Brother!"
"Under our authority, we can mark up prices by up to fifty percent! Understand? From now on, whenever you come to the beastman town to buy things, they will all be at the highest price!"
Tiger Brother wasn't as arrogant, but he also felt victory was in his grasp. He pointed to the long blade in Cheng Shuili's hand, "The trade is void. You should return this blade to me! Besides, you've dirtied it, which has already affected my secondary sales!"
"According to the rules of our beastman town, you need to compensate me at the listed price! But since we didn't agree on a price at the beginning, I can trade with you at the highest possible rate!"
"That is 1,500 game coins!"
Tiger Brother grew more excited as he spoke. After stating the number, he reached out his hand directly, "Now, either hand over the game coins, or come work at my weapons shop to pay off the debt!"
Tiger Sister laughed uncontrollably to the side. She wanted to say something to add more weight to the demand.
Unfortunately, from beginning to end, Cheng Shuili hadn't shown any interest in her goods, so even if she wanted to speak, she couldn't find the words.
These noises went in one of Cheng Shuili's ears and out the other.
She had just asked Xinxue to find her a rope.
Before heading out, Cheng Shuili had specifically organized the Abyss Ring, taking out everything that shouldn't be inside. Now that she needed one, she really had to rely on Xinxue.
The two beastmen watched as a rope appeared out of thin air in Cheng Shuili's hand.
Then, the human rushed up with a speed that defied human limits!
Before Tiger Brother could even react, he was struck hard in the abdomen by Cheng Shuili's elbow.
This blow was purely a personal grudge.
But unfortunately, the "forbidden from attacking" rule seemed to be in effect.
Cheng Shuili didn't stop. Before Tiger Brother could react, he felt his wrists tighten; the rope was already wrapped around them!
"What are you doing?!" Tiger Sister screamed as she lunged, but Cheng Shuili dodged to the side and took the opportunity to kick her in the knee.
That kick was truly convenient.
Tiger Sister dodged instinctively, and the next second, her hands were bound by the rope.
"Forbidden from attacking! Can't you understand that?"
"You're already immune to damage, yet you want to talk to me about rules?" Cheng Shuili sneered, her hands not stopping, "I'm not attacking, you know."
"I'm just... tying up two human traffickers."
