“Boom! Splash!”
Chunks of flesh and bone splattered across the ground. Having tasted blood, the zombie instinctively picked up a severed arm and began to suck on it greedily:
“Gulp... Gulp...”
The sound of blood being sucked was accompanied by a hair-raising gulping sound.
“Quick! Take this thing and go! It's the most precious treasure! I can use it to create my Undead Army!”
Seeing that they had obtained the lingzhi, Harley was overjoyed. Suddenly remembering something, she screamed at the top of her lungs:
“Those Huaxia people! They definitely came prepared! Taming this monster requires a massive amount of living flesh and blood! Quick! Follow me, let's lure this damn thing over to them!!”
Dammit!
She knew those American bastards were up to no good!
Trying to pass the buck to us, are you?!
Qin Yue and the fox immortal hiding to the side nearly cursed out loud!
But cursing aside, they exchanged a glance and made a decision in an instant:
Kill!
Team One and Team Two were both on their way. They absolutely could not let them run into this hairy zombie!
This thing's strength had surged after drinking just a little blood. They absolutely could not let it escape to slaughter more people!
Screeech! Bang!
A warning flare shot into the sky, carving a bright mark across the gloomy heavens.
Two shadows darted out from the ghost soul flowers, one after the other. Harley's eyes instantly flared with ecstatic joy.
It was those two Huaxia people!
Boom!
Before Martin could even react, he was violently sent flying by the zombie, crashing straight into a patch of Ghost Sand!
The speed and strength that were the pride of the werewolf became a complete joke in front of this thing!
He was lifted high and slammed down hard. His chest collapsed like soft noodles, and half of his leg bone protruded grotesquely from his flesh, exposing a stark white, jagged splinter of bone!
The lingzhi he had kept close to his chest rolled onto the ground, spinning a few times.
The zombie paused, then suddenly raised its head and plunged its two fangs straight into Martin's throat!
“Hrr... Hrr...”
Martin struggled to make a few raspy, wheezing sounds, the light in his eyes slowly fading. Even in death, his gaze remained locked onto the lingzhi.
He had abandoned his teammate for profit, and now, he had been abandoned by Harley in the exact same way.
“Hey! Huaxia people! We can cooperate!” she yelled in English.
Harley clutched her chest. Bleeding from all seven facial orifices, her sclera stained with blood, she looked like a vengeful ghost:
“As long as you let me take that thing out, I will reward you! I'll pay you with wealth beyond your wildest dreams!” she continued in English.
“What is that foreign witch muttering about? Tell her to get lost!”
“If it weren't for those brain-dead idiots acting as blood bags for this zombie, this thing wouldn't be so hard to deal with!”
The fox immortal possessing Hu Manni grinned and shouted at the top of her lungs:
“Yadan, we need to work together in a bit and find a way to kill this thing. Otherwise, this thing holds a grudge and is incredibly hard to handle. It's already memorized our scent. If it drinks the blood of a few more people, we're all dead meat.”
With that, Hu Manni leaped with the agility of a fox. Dropping onto all fours, she pounced directly onto the zombie's shoulders. Her hands transformed into furry, elongated claws as she executed a Black Tiger Steals the Heart strike right at the hairy zombie's chest!
Her sharp fox claws stabbed downward, producing a harsh, screeching sound like fingernails scraping against metal. Yet, she only managed to leave a few white scratches!
“Roar!!”
The zombie let out a bizarre shriek. Moving with surprising agility, it reached out to tear Hu Manni off. Meanwhile, Qin Yue circulated the Small Twelve Bone Forging Method. With a surge of vital energy, she spun and delivered a fierce kick directly against the zombie's back!
!
The zombie remained completely motionless, like a towering mountain. Not a single wound could be seen on its body.
What kind of monster was this?!
“Hu Manni! Get out of the way!”
Qin Yue knit her brows tightly. She spun and crouched, narrowly dodging the hairy zombie's strike. Performing a quick kip-up, she made a move to snatch the large lingzhi on the ground while simultaneously tossing an object into the air!
Sure enough, the hairy zombie fell for the trick. It mindlessly lunged forward, catching a pack of compressed explosives right in its arms!
The moment Hu Manni realized what it was, she bolted on all fours.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Qin Yue pressed the detonator, and a small mushroom cloud slowly rose into the air—
Half of the zombie's face was blown to pieces, its shoulders shattered, its chest blackened and charred, and its neck snapped, leaving its head lolling uselessly over its shoulder.
Even a hairy zombie with bones of steel could hardly withstand the power of modern explosives.
Yet, this thing was still active!
The massive shockwave blasted the witch Harley several meters away, slamming her heavily onto the ground.
“What have you done?! What have you done?!”
But upon getting up, her first instinct was not to celebrate her survival, but to shriek in a furious rage:
“You almost destroyed this magnificent creation! You damaged this perfect, immortal body! You will be cursed by the Voodoo God, and you will never find happiness!!”
She ran over trembling, searching through the wreckage for the lingzhi, but found absolutely nothing.
But then, her gaze fell upon the zombie.
“Splendid! It is the perfect undead warrior! It will be mine—a powerful servant who obeys only me!”
Harley's lips quivered. With madness in her eyes, she sliced open her wrist and let her fresh blood drip into the zombie's mouth:
“Just as the prophecy foretold, I will tame the raging, red-eyed demon and become the most courageous witch! By the Voodoo God above, protect me!”
So from the very beginning, her goal had not only been the lingzhi, but this zombie as well!
“Are you insane?!”
Qin Yue kicked the crazed Harley away, but it was already too late.
Dense clusters of black runes emerged from Harley's body, floating in midair to form a sequence of mysterious symbols that vaguely coalesced into chains, linking Harley to the zombie.
As the blood merged with the corpse, the heavily injured zombie rapidly recovered, the crimson light in its eyes growing even more intense.
As the witch's blood slid down its throat, the male corpse's skin smoothed out at a visible rate. The shriveled, wrinkled skin on its face gradually unfurled, revealing the face of a young man.
It cracked its neck, droplets of blood falling from its lips onto the ground. Its appearance had completely transformed.
At a glance, save for its deathly pale complexion and the black hair covering its body, it looked no different from a living person!
It was filled with bestial savagery and killing intent, moving like a machine.
“Ah! Yes! Splendid! This is exactly the power I craved!”
Harley's face grew increasingly gaunt, and she suddenly looked ten years older.
She glared at Qin Yue and Hu Manni with pure malice:
“By the witness of the Voodoo God, my greatest undead warrior, kill them! Kill them and prove your loyalty to me!”
The male corpse approached expressionlessly. Qin Yue made a prompt decision, spreading her hands in front of her chest:
“Go!”
The Exquisite Bone-Piercing Mirror appeared in her hand. The yellow bronze mirror spat out a three-meter-long stream of fire, directly halting the zombie in its tracks.
This mirror could store solar flames and release three bursts of fire. It was a gift from Ma Guniang, and this was Qin Yue's first time using it.
The scorching solar flames were indeed effective against the zombie. It let out a bizarre shriek and instinctively raised its hands to shield itself:
“Roar!”
Traces of solar flames singed the zombie's flesh, making a sizzling sound as the foul stench of burning protein filled the air.
“The mysterious East truly is full of treasures.”
A flash of greed crossed Harley's eyes. She pulled out a Voodoo doll, her expression growing even more excited as she controlled the corpse to make a massive leap forward:
Boom!
The zombie was incredibly agile. It crashed down like a cannonball, blasting a crater three meters wide into the ground. The werewolf's corpse was obliterated, reduced to bits of meat mud, with flesh and bone scattered evenly across the area.
This thing had actually evolved so quickly!
It was fast—incredibly fast.
Hu Manni failed to dodge in time and was grabbed by two massive hands. The fox immortal's face turned deathly pale, already foreseeing her fate of being torn to shreds.
“Hrr... Hrr...”
The zombie opened its bloody maw, exhaling thin wisps of freezing air that carried an unbearable stench.
Such recovery speed, such terrifying physical defense.
How were they supposed to fight it?
Even explosives couldn't kill it, and it was so fast.
The fox immortal closed its eyes.
“If you don't want your companion to die, hand that thing over.”
Harley laughed out loud. Qin Yue clenched her teeth, doing her best to suppress her rage.
She should have killed the witch first!
But she knew very well that if she handed over the mirror, both of them would die. If she kept it, they still had a chance to fight.
“What a pity, Huaxia girl. You've made the wrong decision.”
Seeing Qin Yue's silent refusal, Harley raised her eyebrows slightly and gestured for the zombie to act.
The zombie expressionlessly carried out Harley's command, squeezing hard!
But in the next second, she suddenly froze, an endless void and confusion washing over her heart.
Why could she suddenly no longer sense her link with this monster?
Why did her forehead feel a little cold?
Harley instinctively reached up to touch it, only to feel a tiny, pinprick-sized bloody wound.
As Harley collapsed, the world spun before her eyes, and the zombie fell heavily to the ground.
A familiar figure was standing not far away.
Was it that unremarkable Huaxia woman?
What had she done?
What kind of magic was this? Was this truly a miracle that existed in the world?
It shouldn't be like this.
In the prophecy, the witch, the prediction, the warrior...
Her greatest creation was not yet complete.
Who are you?
Just who are you?!
The black witch collapsed onto the ground, her pupils slowly losing focus.
Filled with resentment, she slowly stopped breathing.
...
Pfft. Pfft.
It was just two very, very soft sounds.
A splash of black blood landed on Hu Manni's face. She gaped in shock, discovering a tiny, pinprick-sized blood hole in the center of the zombie's forehead.
Yet, it was this unremarkable pinhole that had claimed the zombie's life.
“Whew, that was close! I made it just in time!”
Nan Zhi stood amidst the ghost soul flowers, scratching her cheek sheepishly:
“I didn't miss anything important, did I?”
Qin Yue let out a massive sigh of relief.
The fox immortal possessing Hu Manni screamed at the top of her lungs, her voice dripping with absolute sincerity:
“Little Aunt!!! What took you so long?!”
