One hour later.
Leon withdrew from his state of Holy Light Meditation, pulling the freely radiating power of the Holy Light back into his body. He slowly opened his eyes.
Several streaks of light flashed across his field of vision.

“I finally leveled up...”
The flowing light on the panel allowed Leon to finally breathe a sigh of relief. After so many days of mastering Holy Light Meditation, he had finally reached Level 2.
The reason he was able to level up, besides his day and night cultivation, was thanks to the divine spell, Prayer for the God of Sacred Light's Blessing.
The function of this divine spell was to make a wish, using chanting and the guidance of the spell to let the God of Sacred Light fulfill the petitioner's desire.
Leon used this divine spell to accelerate his Holy Light Meditation, shortening the time required for a single session.
His tiny wish was different from his previous request to repair the Gray Mist Barrier. It was like the difference between opening a browser and using that browser to perform a search.
The former only required a functioning computer, not even an internet connection—meaning he didn't need to connect with the God of Sacred Light.
The latter required a functioning computer and a network connection, and the website you searched for had to exist and not be a 404 error.
In other words, the God of Sacred Light had to personally manifest and grant the wish.
The difficulty of success between the two was worlds apart.
By making a minor wish through Prayer for the God of Sacred Light's Blessing, Leon could fulfill his desire within a certain range without disturbing the God of Sacred Light.
One could only say that this divine spell truly deserved its reputation as the “Wish” spell; its effects were indeed powerful.
If it hadn't been analyzed by the divine spell panel, let alone a minor Bronze rank priest like Leon, even a Gold or Diamond rank priest might not have been able to master it.
Leon turned his gaze to the panel and checked it again.
【You have leveled up Holy Light Meditation. You may choose one of the following three traits for enhancement:】
【Rapid Mind: Significantly increases the cultivation speed of your Holy Light Meditation. Allows you to complete a meditation session in a shorter time based on your proficiency.】
【Bitter Meditation: After each completion of Holy Light Meditation, your mental energy will be strengthened based on your current mental energy intensity. The stronger your mental energy, the greater the enhancement effect.】
【Linkage: Links with the divine spell Healing. Each time you perform Holy Light Meditation, you can rapidly repair injuries and recover stamina and mental energy.】
After a brief scan of the three traits, Leon quickly made his decision.
“I choose the Bitter Meditation trait.”
Leon could already achieve the first trait—increasing meditation speed—by using Prayer for the God of Sacred Light's Blessing.
As for the third trait, Linkage, its primary function was status recovery and quickly restoring combat effectiveness.
That would only be of great use in life-or-death crises where he absolutely had to fight without any time to rest.
For daily life, Leon didn't need to use Holy Light Meditation to race against time to recover his status.
What Leon needed now was strength, accumulation, and the expansion of his mental energy pool to increase his mental energy intensity!
The second trait was perfect.
【Trait enhanced for Holy Light Meditation: Bitter Meditation】
With the enhancement complete, Leon chanted softly once more, using the Wish spell to perform a rapid session of Holy Light Meditation.
The moment he began meditating, Leon felt the difference.
After reaching Level 2, his comprehension of Holy Light Meditation had reached a new level, and his meditation speed had increased further as he stacked that comprehension.
Instead of an hour, it took about fifty minutes before Leon slowly opened his eyes and retracted the dissipating Holy Light into his body.
Feeling the increase in mental energy intensity from this meditation, he looked invigorated.
“Compared to before, the mental energy gain from this meditation is a full thirty-five percent higher!”
In other words, every three sessions of Holy Light Meditation would now yield the same result as four sessions previously.
And this wasn't the end; it was only the beginning.
As his mental energy intensity grew, the boost it provided would be twice, three times, or even dozens of times greater than before!
“Choosing exponential growth was the right move!”
Leon felt a surge of joy. With the Bitter Meditation trait, the weakness of his meager mental energy would soon be compensated for. He would no longer be a 'three-minute man.'
Striking while the iron was hot, he continued practicing Holy Light Meditation to keep expanding his mental energy pool.
Five hours later, Leon walked out of his room in a daze, his face etched with exhaustion, looking as though he had just fought a three-hundred-round battle.
During dinner, Leon's appearance naturally caused Old Hunter great concern.
“I've heard that people react differently after suffering a blow. Some lose interest in everything, while others experience a surge in desire and choose to vent all their stress...”
Old Hunter looked at Leon worriedly. “Could it be that the young master's state is the latter? But venting without restraint will eventually damage the body...”
As Old Hunter thought this, he saw Leon's dazed expression. Due to his lack of focus, Leon even dropped his fork on the floor.
Old Hunter could no longer hold back. He spoke up, “Young Master, you... should exercise restraint. You mustn't exhaust your body.”
Restraint? Exhausting his body?
What was Old Hunter talking about?
After casting the Wish spell and performing Holy Light Meditation multiple times, Leon felt like his mental energy and focus had been completely drained.
Hearing Old Hunter's words now, his reaction was delayed by half a beat, and he didn't quite grasp what the butler meant.
But then, he heard Old Hunter continue:
“If you truly must... perhaps you could ask Captain Ryan to take you to the various pavilions in the city to relax...”
“What are you talking about!” Leon finally realized that Old Hunter, seeing his exhausted state, had let his mind wander to other things. He quickly explained that he looked this way because of his divine spell cultivation.
Old Hunter let out a sigh of relief upon hearing this. It was good that he wasn't draining his body through excessive venting.
Nearby, Alicia sat at the dining table, looking satisfied every time she took a sip of the horned goat meat soup.
Hearing Leon's words, she licked the soup from her lips, turned to stare at Leon, and said seriously:
“Leon... Priest... you don't... need to be... in a hurry. I... will... get stronger... to protect... you!”
Leon shook his head and laughed. “Alicia, I'm not in a hurry. I'm just...”
“No!” Alicia interrupted him. She suddenly stood up and reached across the table, her hands cupping Leon's head like a pair of pincers, forcing him to meet her gaze.
She said, one word at a time:
“You... are... in a hurry. Very... much... in a hurry.”
Leon looked into Alicia's emerald eyes, which were filled with an emotion called sincerity.
“Alright, alright.” Leon patted Alicia's hands away. “I understand. I won't be in a hurry anymore.”
Only then did Alicia nod in satisfaction.
“Alicia, has anyone ever told you that you're very smart?”
“No. They... all say... I... am... stupid.”
“Well, don't listen to them. You're not stupid at all. I think you're very smart.”
“Mhm!”
