The Falcon warrior guarding the base of the tower saw Leon descending and stiffened, his eyes filled with excitement and reverence.
“The gray mist... the gray mist is actually gone!”
Standing nearby, Alicia’s eyes also sparkled with a bright light.
He actually succeeded...
Priest Leon is simply incredible...
Alicia thought to herself that even though the old man in her dreams had said her strength was formidable for the Bronze rank, she could never have accomplished something as staggering as what Leon had just done.
Well, it wasn't that the old man had lied to her; it was just that Priest Leon was too powerful—so powerful that he exceeded the old man's expectations...
“Roar!”
Just then, a deafening roar echoed from the distant horizon, coming from the direction where Leon and the others had first entered the magic barrier.
Leon’s expression darkened instantly. “It’s that Gold rank gray mist monster!”
With the Gray Mist Barrier operational again, the gray mist was being repelled from Solainem. These mist monsters no longer had a place to hide, and their strength would rapidly plummet, leaving them weak and vulnerable.
Realizing their predicament, the gray mist monsters would fall into a state of ultimate frenzy, like trapped beasts.
That sky-shattering roar was the death cry of the maddened Gold rank monster.
“Master Leon, what should we do?” a Falcon warrior asked.
Leon sensed the world-shaking tremors coming from that direction. After only a moment’s hesitation, he immediately said, “We’re going there!”
Besides the Gold rank monster that had targeted them earlier, there was another one that had answered its call; it was also Gold rank.
Even though Miles was an elite among the Gold rank and a Bishop who mastered many powerful divine spells, it would be extremely difficult for him to handle two monsters of the same rank simultaneously.
Leon had a clear understanding of his own strength.
Rashly entering a battlefield of Gold rank powerhouses would mean being shaken to death by a mere shockwave.
But Leon didn't need to join the fray directly. He only needed to return the relic in his hand—the skull of St. Elias—to Miles.
This relic, forged from the skull of an Epic rank priest, possessed immense power. As long as Miles could get his hands on it, dealing with two monsters of the same rank would be a simple matter.
Leon led the group at a rapid pace toward the source of the roars.
Now that the Gray Mist Barrier was repaired, the temporary magic barrier had vanished. Along the way, every monster deprived of the gray mist’s protection had fallen into a frenzy.
Leon took the lead, summoning a massive Hand of Divine Spells to grip the glowing golden warhammer. He swung the two-meter-wide Hammer of Holy Light, and with every thunderous strike, he smashed the lunging, frenzied mist monsters into fragments.
“Master Leon!”
A shout came from ahead.
Thomas, covered in blood, led a group of Falcon warriors to meet them.
“Master Leon, are you alright?” Thomas asked with concern.
“I’m fine,” Leon replied quickly. He scanned the surroundings and saw over a dozen corpses of Black and White Hand members, but one body was missing.
“Where is the Black and White Hand captain?”
“When the gray mist receded, a pack of frenzied monsters rushed in, and he used the chaos to escape!”
Leon nodded, his gaze falling on the heavy armor on Thomas’s chest, which was covered in a spiderweb of dense cracks.
“Uncle Thomas, your injuries...”
“It’s not a serious wound; it won’t affect my movements,” Thomas said.
“Let me treat you first.” Leon raised his priest’s scepter, and a Light Prayer orb formed at its tip.
The orb radiated a warm glow, enveloping Thomas’s body.
A cool and gentle power slowly coiled around his wounds, continuously repairing the damaged torso beneath his breastplate.
Thomas’s expression softened slightly. He looked behind Leon and asked in confusion, “Where are the nobles?”
“We’ll talk as we move.” Leon led the regrouped Thomas and his men toward the loud battlefield.
“The nobles who followed us were seduced by the Vampire Grand Duke. They all betrayed Heron and defected to the Nightmare Empire.”
“After we separated from you, Baron Sori, their leader, tried to ambush me to stop me from repairing the barrier device. However, I noticed his intent, and Alicia and I worked together to kill them all.”
Hearing this, a cold light flashed in Thomas’s eyes.
“Those cowards... I originally thought they followed us to help, but I never expected they wanted to sabotage us!”
The coldness in his eyes passed quickly, replaced by relief. “Fortunately, you noticed their intentions, Master Leon. Otherwise... the consequences would have been unthinkable.”
“Regarding the betrayal of these nobles, I will report the situation to the High Tribunal and let Viscount Claude decide once he returns,” Leon said.
“We can handle those matters later. Right now, the priority is to get to Bishop Miles.”
“Uncle Thomas, I need you to enter the battlefield to deliver something to Bishop Miles.”
Thomas felt the dull ache in his chest, but he didn't say a word, simply nodding. “Understood. What do I need to deliver?”
“A relic.”
Leon opened his palm, revealing the skull of St. Elias.
He continued, “You don’t have to risk your life by charging into the center of the battlefield to find Bishop Miles. That’s too dangerous.”
“This skull relic is made of incredibly tough material; it won't be damaged even by a direct hit.”
“You only need to get close to the edge of the battlefield and throw the relic toward Bishop Miles from a distance.”
Thomas took the skull of St. Elias from Leon and said, “Yes, sir!”
With that, he prepared to set off.
“No need to rush,” Leon called out, stopping him. “Wait a moment for the healing effect.”
What did he mean?
Thomas was confused. What did he mean by 'wait for the healing effect'?
Leon didn't say more, simply continuing to channel mental energy into the Light Prayer.
The Light Prayer was linked with Healing, and that Healing now had the new [Abundant] trait.
In just a few moments, Thomas felt the difference.
The strange orb of light summoned by Master Leon carried a healing power. At first, the effect was barely noticeable, only slightly soothing the wound on his chest.
However, as he remained bathed in the orb’s light, Thomas could feel the healing power growing stronger. His chest wound was healing at a slow but steadily accelerating rate.
By the time they reached the battlefield where Miles was fighting, Thomas’s wound had already healed by more than half. At the very least, moving or using battle qi would no longer cause the wound to tear and bleed.
“What kind of divine spell is this?”
Thomas was inwardly astonished.
It was clearly a Light Prayer, yet it carried a healing effect.
Even more incredible was that the healing ability actually intensified the longer one stayed in the holy light!
In the time it took for these thoughts to flash through his mind, a faint, tingling sensation came from the wound on his chest, as if the flesh were quietly growing and closing.
The injury, originally caused by a joint ambush from three Silver rank bloodline warriors of the Black and White Hand, was now rapidly scabbing over and healing!
“Protect the Young Master!”
Feeling his injuries almost fully recovered, Thomas gave an order to the Falcon warriors beside him. He then gave Leon a slight nod and turned to charge into the battlefield.
