Chapter 155 · Volume 1

The Black and White Hand and Fire Elemental Creations

What if this promise could be fulfilled within the next twenty years, and Leon successfully reached the peak of the Epic rank, or even the Legend rank?
The Sage King took a soft breath, his expression returning to calm.
He raised the withered wood wand in his hand, and his Legend-rank power surged out, creating a token engraved with the word “Thunder” before him.
“Deliver this token to Leon.”
The Sage King said, “Additionally, dispatch a squad of warriors from the Limit Warband. Have them head to Eldenborg and await Leon’s instructions.”
“Consider it a reward... for Leon’s pacification of the dragon attack on Stormveil City.”
In a flash of shadow, the token engraved with the word “Thunder” instantly vanished, and the figure hidden in the darkness departed at once.
Only a single voice echoed back in the palace:
“Yes, Your Majesty.”
...
The next day.
Stormveil City.
“This way, please, Young Master Leon.”
Led by a servant, Leon walked into the conference hall of the city lord’s manor.
The moment he stepped inside, several different gazes fell upon him.
Leon turned his gaze and saw a group of very young-looking mages wearing purple magic robes.
Beside these mages stood two men dressed in the official attire of the Heron Empire’s Department of Policy Implementation.
These must be the magic research team from the imperial capital and the members of the Department of Policy Implementation that Liam mentioned in his letter.
A realization flashed through Leon's mind. He nodded to the group and took a seat at the head of the conference table.
“Young Master Leon.”
“Priest Leon.”
“I have heard much about you, Young Master Leon.”
Upon seeing Leon, the group stood up one after another to greet him.
Only a young woman from the magic research team, her face full of arrogance, remained seated and merely jerked her chin at Leon.
This sight caused the leader of the magic research team to instantly break into a cold sweat.
Fortunately, seeing that Leon did not seem to mind, the team leader breathed a sigh of relief and hurriedly whispered to the girl,
“Aurora, mind your manners!”
“What manners do I need to show a Silver priest?” Aurora replied with utter indifference.
“I am a scholar from the imperial capital’s Ministry of Magic. Nodding to him is already showing him respect.”
The team leader glared at her upon hearing this. Seeing that Aurora still did not care, he could only withdraw his gaze in frustration.
Aurora was from the family of Marquis Connery, and as the only daughter, she had been thoroughly spoiled since childhood—the kind of pampering where her parents feared she would melt if held too tightly.
Even in the imperial capital, where nobles gathered like clouds, Aurora's family was second only to the Cassius Royal Family and the ducal families, so she had been lawless from a young age.
Furthermore, Aurora’s talent in magic was exceptionally strong.
Nurtured by her family, she had become a Bronze-rank mage in her youth. Now, at twenty-seven years old, she had already advanced to become a Silver-rank mage!
It was no exaggeration to call her talent a once-in-two-decades rarity!
Her prominent family background, combined with her outstanding transcendent talent, made Aurora arrogant. She believed that other transcendents of her age were nothing special.
In fact, when she heard that the Divine Art genius Leon Douglas would be coming to Stormveil City for the meeting, Aurora had been eagerly looking forward to sparring with him to show off her own name as a magical genius.
But... Leon did not pay Aurora any mind at all.
Before entering the conference hall, Leon had already perceived the strength of these mages. The strongest among them was only at the peak Silver rank.
Even if it were the previous, Silver-rank Leon... well, he could have beaten them all to a pulp single-handedly.
If he couldn't, it would only be because they had nothing left in them!
And now that he had advanced to the Gold rank... he felt that he only needed to activate his 【Golden Body】 buff to physically flatten this entire group.
After all, having been trained as a bloodline warrior since childhood, his close-quarters combat was not weak in the slightest.
Clack, clack, clack.
Footsteps approached from outside the conference hall once more. Soon, the doors were pushed open, and a radiant Viscount Finn strode in.
Viscount Finn first nodded and greeted the guests from the imperial capital, then turned to converse with Leon with a bright smile on his face.
“Young Master Leon, in a few months, I'll be hosting a celebratory banquet. You must come!” Viscount Finn said with a laugh.
Leon was slightly surprised and looked at Viscount Finn. “Does this mean... your wife is expecting?”
“Indeed!” Viscount Finn chuckled.
“A few days ago, my wife was feeling unwell and often felt nauseous. I had a physician check on her, only to find out she's pregnant...”
“Congratulations, congratulations,” Leon said with a smile.
Viscount Finn chuckled again. “This is all thanks to you, Young Master Leon...”
“Whoa, whoa, whoa! What do you mean 'thanks to me'? Watch your words!” Leon's brow twitched as he hurriedly cut Viscount Finn off.
In his perception field, the mages and members of the Department of Policy Implementation from the imperial capital were all holding their breath, ears pricked to listen to his conversation with Viscount Finn.
Their faces were filled with shock and the excitement of catching some juicy gossip.
Although both Leon and Viscount Finn understood that the Viscount meant to thank Leon for healing his old injuries...
But... saying “my wife's pregnancy is all thanks to Leon” out loud, how on earth would that sound to outsiders!
Hearing Leon stop him, Viscount Finn quickly realized what he had said. His old face flushed red, and he hurriedly explained the situation to the guests from the imperial capital, finally clearing up the misunderstanding.
After the explanation, another figure soon entered the conference hall. It was Miles.
Leon and Viscount Finn greeted Bishop Miles, and the meeting officially began.
“Everyone, soldiers of the Blue Fox Warband have discovered traces of the Black and White Hand’s activity at a manor near Cologne Crossroads,”
Viscount Finn got straight to the point:
“The cult organization known as the 'Black and White Hand' conducted a sinister sacrifice ritual in that manor. The owner, along with over thirty of his family members and servants, have all been killed.”
“According to our investigations on-site, a distinct aura of the fire element remains in the manor.”
“I suspect that the Black and White Hand summoned some kind of monster from the Fire Element Plane through this sacrifice.”
“Currently, they are likely harboring this fire elemental creation and hiding within Stormveil City, plotting something malevolent.”
“What are your thoughts on this matter?”
The Fire Element Plane?
Leon fell into silent thought.
In magical theory, besides the continent of Ommisiah, there were many different elemental planes.
Examples included the Fire Element Plane, the Ice Element Plane, and the Demon Plane.
However, while mages could use magic to create fire elemental monsters and observe that the fire elements were summoned into the magic circle from another location...
Where exactly was that location? No one had ever been able to confirm whether it was indeed the so-called Fire Element Plane.
This was because, to this day, no one had ever been able to enter a different elemental plane; they could only rely on direct or indirect observations.
As a result, different people held different attitudes toward the theory of elemental planes, with some believing in it and others remaining skeptical.
In the conference hall, Viscount Finn was naturally one of those who believed.
As for those who did not...
“Viscount Finn, I must correct one of your statements.”
Aurora suddenly spoke up:
“The Fire Element Plane only exists in theory. Whether it actually exists remains a question.”
“Therefore, please do not jump to conclusions about the Fire Element Plane based solely on a single fire elemental creation, using incomplete magic theories without any real evidence.”
As Aurora’s voice faded, the conference hall fell into an instant silence.
