“Fido,” Irene called out.
“Your Grace, what are your orders?”
Hearing the summons, the old kobold hurriedly limped forward with his cane.
Irene handed him the parchment in her hand and said,
“This records the Grape Wine Brewing Method. Go arrange for our people to dig a hidden cellar to brew the wine.”
“Remember, you must not let any outsiders learn of this method.”
Fido took the parchment and gave it a brief glance. His brow furrowed, seemingly skeptical of the method recorded on it.
After all, alcohol in this world was considered a magic potion, requiring mixologists to refine it using various precious magical materials.
The method recorded on this parchment was simply too straightforward.
It was so simple that in this world, no one would believe that useless fruits could be turned into expensive liquor this way.
Seeing this, Irene said nothing.
The differences between the two worlds were not something that could be explained in a short time.
As long as they brewed according to her method, the results would speak for themselves once the finished product was ready.
As for whether someone would reverse-engineer the same brewing method once these wines hit the market, she had already thought about that.
For so many years in this world, no one had ever discovered this method of brewing.
If someone managed to crack the brewing method in a short time just because she introduced a new type of alcohol, Irene could only give them a thumbs-up and call them impressive.
A brewing method undiscovered for so many years, cracked the moment she brought it out.
That would probably mean she had run into a child of destiny.
But even if it was cracked, it didn't matter.
After successfully brewing the wine, Irene finally realized that the knowledge from her past life wasn't entirely useless.
Simple modern knowledge like brewing was almost equivalent to a dimensional strike when placed in this medieval-like fantasy world.
This was mainly because this world had magic.
Driven by magic, technological development had almost stagnated, showing barely any progress over tens of thousands of years.
Currently, the highest level of technology was the steam creations of the dwarves.
The research directions of those noble mages were basically focused on how to achieve godhood and how to gain stronger combat power.
Very few mages would actively research technologies and magic related to the people's livelihood.
Even if some luxury-loving nobles commissioned mages to develop some good things, they would only circulate within noble circles.
They would absolutely never be popularized among the commoners.
This resulted in many common and ordinary pieces of knowledge from her past life being ahead of this world by who knows how many centuries.
And she had countless bits of such simple knowledge stored in her head.
She only needed to throw out one or two things that touched upon this world's blind spots...
To deliver a resounding modern shock to these foolish gophers.
With these thoughts in mind, Irene looked at Fido and said,
“Aside from this, there is one more thing.”
“As you know, we dragons frequently enter deep slumbers.”
“While Daviel and I are asleep, the defenses of the dragon's nest will be vulnerable, so I need a strong and powerful force.”
Fido remained calm and unperturbed when he heard the first half.
The fact that dragons were prone to deep sleep was known across the entire continent.
For some adult dragons, a casual afternoon nap could easily last for years or even decades.
The entire lifespan of some short-lived races might not even be as long as a single nap for a dragon.
But when he heard the second half about needing a strong and powerful force, a look of disappointment appeared in Fido's eyes.
Their kobold tribe was indeed too weak. It seemed these two Graces disdained their weakness and were preparing to find a stronger group of vassals.
But right at that moment, Irene suddenly called his name.
“Fido.”
“Your Grace,” the old kobold quickly responded.
“Now, I officially appoint you as the captain of the Security Force, and grant you the authority to form this security force.”
“In a moment, go select a group of the strongest, most brave, and battle-hardened kobolds from the tribe.”
“I will bestow powerful strength upon you, allowing you to become my bloodline descendants.”
“Become my sword, my shield, my shadow, and a sharp blade hidden in the darkness!”
“When I have need of you, deal a fatal blow to my enemies!”
“Do you understand?”
Fido still hadn't fully processed it. Although he didn't understand what a "Security Force" meant, he heard the words "bloodline descendants" loud and clear.
After his elderly brain processed the words for half a second, the old kobold finally grasped the situation.
Her Grace was going to assemble a team of dragonborn!
This was the moment to bring honor to his ancestors, to bring ultimate glory to his lineage!
Unable to suppress the excitement and agitation in his heart any longer, he tossed his cane aside and knelt on one knee with a thud.
He roared at the top of his lungs:
“Yes! Your Grace! I will thoroughly carry out your will! I will become the sharpest blade in your hand!”
“I will lead the young ones to tear apart any obstacle in your path!!!”
“Good. Very spirited,” Irene clapped her hands lightly.
“Then go find those bravest, most battle-hardened warriors. I shall grant you all a new life!”
“As you command, Your Grace!”
After Fido left, Irene transformed into her black dragon form, lay on the ground in the most comfortable posture, and let out a long breath.
An overwhelming wave of exhaustion washed over her brain.
For the past month, to record the entire brewing process at all times, she hadn't closed her eyes once.
Now that she finally relaxed, she could barely keep her eyelids open.
“Sis, this Security Force thing you're setting up sounds so cheap,” Daviel, who had been devouring food like a wolf since earlier, suddenly spoke up.
“How is it cheap? 'Security' means securing peace and safety. It sounds great,” Irene murmured with her eyes half-closed.
“It just feels really cheap.”
Daviel picked his teeth, sat on the ground with a thud, and patted his bloated belly as he said,
“How about calling them the Black Knights? We're black dragons, so having dragonborn called Black Knights is way cooler.”
“Hmm... fine, we'll do it your way. I'm a bit... sleepy... wake me up... when Fido gets back...”
Irene's voice grew softer and softer, until only faint snoring remained...
