With this slash, Irene felt her hands go numb. With her current physical strength, there were very few things in this world capable of jarring her so violently.
Yet the opponent before her had done so purely with her physical body, without even using any defensive magical items.
Amidst her surprise, Irene's golden slit-pupils, which allowed her to see in the dark, dilated slightly as she took in every detail of the mysterious figure in an instant.
This was a woman dressed in a gorgeous green corseted gown, with wavy green hair cascading over her shoulders... No, perhaps she shouldn't be called a human.
The green scales rapidly covering most of her body and the bony dragon horns protruding from her forehead left no doubt about her identity.
A dragonborn? ...Looking at the color of those scales, a green dragonborn? Doubts swirled in Irene's mind.
But before she could decide on her next move, the figure in front of her reacted, launching a counterattack at lightning speed.
Her once vibrant, moist red lips split wide open all the way to her ears, spewing a massive cloud of deep green mist.
The chainsword, being the first to make contact with the mist, immediately emitted a harsh, sizzling sound of corrosion.
Irene's eyes widened slightly. Seeing the mist hurtling toward her, she hastily dodged to the side.
But immediately after, vine after vine erupted from the green-haired woman, slithering like nimble serpents to bind Irene's limbs and torso.
With the scene of Christine being bound just moments ago fresh in her mind, Irene did not dare to be careless. She swung her chainsword; since the core of the weapon had not been corroded, it continued to rev normally, its sharpness showing no signs of dulling.
But the green-haired woman clearly had no intention of letting Irene off so easily. Plumes of green toxic gas mingled among the vines, the two distinct forms of attack blending seamlessly.
At the same time, she rapidly pulled back, attempting to hide her figure once more.
Despicable coward...
Irene's eyes narrowed slightly as she grumbled internally.
While blocking the attacks, she caught sight of Arthas out of the corner of her eye. He had already rescued the white dragon disguised as an elf.
Now, the two of them were closing in together.
Together with her, the three of them formed a perfect triangular encirclement.
Facing three opponents at once, no matter how flashy the green-haired woman's attacks were, she would surely be overwhelmed.
The corners of Irene's mouth curled up slightly, as if she could already see the dawn of victory.
But in the very next instant, the green-haired woman attacking them seemed to realize the approaching danger, and her fierce offensive suddenly came to a halt.
Then, under the astonished gazes of the three, her body began to swell unnaturally, and a powerful shockwave erupted from her, rapidly expanding in all directions.
"Boom—!!!"
Buffeted by the shockwave, Irene and the other two instinctively raised their guards, barely managing to stabilize themselves in midair. However, the blast did not dissipate after passing them; it slammed heavily into the cavern walls. The entire cave shook violently, and stalactites began raining down, crashing onto the ground.
For a moment, smoke and dust filled the air, leaving the scene in utter chaos.
Lowering the arm shielding her eyes, Irene froze when she finally saw what lay ahead.
Reflected in her eyes was a massive green beast.
The menacing scales, the protruding skull, the razor-sharp fangs, and... the faint fragrance of wood and forest all proved that this was a—green dragon!
