Chapter 362 · Volume 1

What Is Your Name?

“Screw you! You're the weak one! This young master is of the strongest dragon race! Ah! Ow, ow, ow! I know you can hear me! Let me out right now!”
Without the isolation of the spatial power, the sealed dragon youth immediately shrieked in protest upon hearing Po Kong’s mockery. However, he waited for a long time, yet still received no response.
“What do you think? Let him out?” Starlight winked at his companions, seeking their opinion with his gaze.
After exchanging looks for a few seconds, Po Kong finally sighed and said, “Let him go. He doesn't look like much of a threat anyway... But let me get close first. The moment you release him, I’ll grab him, just in case he tries something again.”
Seeing that Po Kong had already walked over to the barrier, Starlight could only shrug helplessly and release the spatial seal.
In that instant, the boy, losing his support, suddenly plummeted from mid-air. But before he could hit the ground, Po Kong grabbed him by the scruff of his neck, hoisting him up like a kitten.
“Alright, brat, spill it. What’s your story?” Po Kong said as he casually tossed the boy toward the campfire, his face full of menace.
“Ow! Couldn't you be a little gentler!” The boy rubbed his sore bottom and muttered under his breath, “Why are all the humans I meet so crude? Talk about rotten luck! I am a noble dragon! I won't listen to you!”
“Ho, quite the tough guy, aren't you? Since you refuse to talk, don't blame me for not giving you a chance. Little Star, do you want to find out what grilled dragon steak tastes like? I’m actually quite curious myself~”
Watching the dragon boy look aggrieved yet stubborn to the bone, Po Kong suppressed his laughter and intentionally cracked his knuckles, striding toward him.
This terrified the boy, who turned to flee. But before he could even stand up, he found his body completely out of his control, pinned in mid-air by a layer of transparent spatial power.
“You’re right. Dragon meat should taste better than beef. Though, I’d suggest steaming it instead of grilling; it would probably be more tender...” Starlight naturally understood Po Kong’s intent and played along with him.
Seeing these two humans talking while even pulling out a knife, the dragon boy finally broke. He shouted in a panic, “Don't eat me! I don't taste good! My meat is sour! I’ll talk! I’ll talk, alright!”
“Fine. In that case, start by telling us why you’re here.”
Seeing the boy’s attitude soften, Xia Duo stepped in front of Po Kong at the right moment and gave him a look, putting an end to their clumsy performance.
“Why I’m here... Actually, I don't have any special purpose. I just smelled a fragrance drifting from this direction... and then I followed the scent...” As the boy spoke, his gaze involuntarily drifted toward the steak Starlight had just finished grilling, his bright eyes shimmering with anticipation.
“What? You came here just for food?” Xia Duo was momentarily at a loss for words. But observing the boy’s expression, he didn't seem to be lying, which left her unsure of how to respond.
“Yeah, I haven't eaten for days... So, could you give me something to eat?” Before the boy could finish, his stomach growled right on cue.
Seeing this, Moen gracefully circled the campfire, sliced off a piece of the enticing steak with a small knife, and handed it to the boy with a smile. “Here, filling your stomach is more important right now.”
“Is it really okay!” The boy’s eyes widened. He took the steak from Moen in surprise and began devouring it in large gulps without hesitation. “Thank you... munch munch... This is so delicious!”
“So, can you tell us a bit about yourself now? For example... what is your name?” Moen asked gently.
“My name? If translated into your Common Tongue, it should be... Aidanach Serfendorix Astra Losmed Flameldios Gorgondraxtor Hermesweltanos Auroradisthlos Gold...”
While gorging himself, the boy mumbled out a name that was terrifyingly long.
“Wait! Stop right there! Are you sure that string of words is a name and not some kind of tongue twister??” Po Kong waved his hand to interrupt the boy before he could continue, then turned to Starlight. “Little Star, did you remember what he’s called?”
“No.”
Starlight shook his head decisively. Are you kidding? Just reciting that name had taken the boy over ten seconds; there was no way in hell he could remember it.
Xia Duo, on the other hand, nodded silently and whispered, “That part is correct. The names of pureblood dragons are indeed that complex... But are you all alone? Where is your family?”
“Family? ...I don't know! For as long as I can remember, I’ve been alone...” The boy thought carefully and shook his head before looking back at Moen. “Kind long-eared sister, is there any more meat?”
Only then did Starlight notice that the plate-sized piece of steak Moen had given the boy was already gone. Even the bone fragments had been chewed up and swallowed.
“...Alright, now I can be certain you aren't human. Go ahead and eat.”
Though he was somewhat speechless, Starlight wasn't stingy and handed over the rest of the steak.
It wasn't that he lacked caution, but the way the boy was wolfing down the food reminded him for no reason of Lian, who was still missing.
This caused a tremor in Starlight’s heart, and he subconsciously associated the boy before him with the pretty girl he had met by the sea.
“Sigh...” Starlight let out a long breath, pushing the thoughts to the back of his mind.
It seemed he would have to prepare dinner again. Fortunately, he had plenty of ingredients in his storage space, and cooking with magic was fast. He would just make another batch.
“I say, Aidan... whatever-hech... Good grief, what a nightmare of a name! Aren't you afraid of stuffing yourself to death?” Po Kong watched the boy eat like a starving ghost, wanting to call him but truly unable to recall his name.
“It’s Aidanach Serfendorix Astra Losmed Flameldios Gorgondraxtor Hermesweltanos Auroradisthlos Gold! You humans have such terrible memories!” The boy shook his head as he ate, repeating it once more with a hint of dissatisfaction in his tone.
“Little Shadow, can I punch him...” Po Kong looked at Xia Duo, his face darkening. “For some reason, I get irritated the moment I hear that name!”
Sensing the change in Po Kong’s tone, the boy immediately clutched his steak and shrank behind Moen, shouting as he nibbled, “It’s clearly your own bad memory! You can't even remember a single name!”
“Fine, fine, fine! My memory is bad! Then from now on, I’ll just call you... Little Goldie. You don't have a problem with that, do you?” Po Kong said.
“Pah! What on earth is ‘Little Goldie’? Why do I feel like you’re insulting me!? That sounds terrible!” The boy immediately grew upset, baring his teeth in protest.
But Po Kong clearly ignored his protest and continued on his own, “I say, Little Goldie, if I recall correctly, aren't dragons only able to take human form after reaching a certain cultivation level? What’s your deal?”
“I don't know~ And also, my name isn't Little Goldie!”
