Chapter 336 · Volume 1

Joining Forces Against a Saint (2)

Ming Ye scrutinized the two facing him with a trace of irritability. As a Saint Rank powerhouse, it was truly baffling that he was struggling to gain any advantage over these two juniors.
However, he showed no intention of backing down. Instead, he focused his observation on Lira’s every subtle movement.
“Not attacking? It seems this dark elf guard’s strange skill has its limits. I don’t believe you can block everything!”
After a brief moment of weighing his options, Ming Ye made his decision. He stopped hesitating and opted for the most direct and violent strategy—a saturated barrage to force an opening.
In an instant, several streaks of blood-red battle qi erupted from the tip of his scythe, like crimson crescent moons falling from the night sky, aimed straight for Lira’s vitals.
Facing the overwhelming assault, Lira had no choice but to activate his Super Sense state once again and charge forward.
A single attack, no matter how strong, would have a weakness. But Ming Ye’s indiscriminate bombardment was different. Finding the flaws in every single strike within such a dense offensive put immense pressure on Lira.
Furthermore, he couldn’t dodge. Behind him, Po Kong had reached a critical stage in charging his power and could not be interrupted.
With his brain working at high speeds, the longsword in Lira’s hand instantly traced countless streaks of light above his head.
The shimmering points of light formed a continuous river that completely enveloped the two of them, accurately striking the attacks Ming Ye had unleashed.
As the blood-colored crescents shattered in mid-air, Ming Ye finally saw through the trick.
“Hahaha! I see! You were merely using some forbidden technique to try and win through cleverness! Let’s see who laughs last!” Ming Ye laughed, his attacks growing even more fierce, as if he intended to turn everything in his path to nothingness.
Under the storm of attacks, Lira felt a splitting headache, as if his skull were about to burst.
Suddenly, a strange shade of blood-red obscured his vision. He instinctively reached up to touch his cheek, only to realize that under the high-pressure backlash of the Super Sense skill, blood had begun to seep uncontrollably from his eyes, nose, and mouth.
Even so, Lira had no intention of giving up. He gritted his teeth and forced himself to keep Super Sense active, stubbornly resisting Ming Ye’s onslaught.
However, as time passed, the longsword in his hand began to tremble. His movements grew increasingly sluggish, and he fell completely into a disadvantage.
With the mounting pressure and intensifying pain, Lira’s five senses began to blur. He felt as though the world around him was being shrouded in a thick mist.
“Damn it... how much time has passed? Is Po Kong ready yet? What... what am I doing?”
Lira felt his consciousness wandering in an endless darkness. Just as he was about to be completely swallowed by the black tide, a searing aura capable of incinerating all things erupted from behind him.
“Thanks, brother! I’ll take it from here!” At some point, Po Kong had opened his eyes. His originally emerald pupils had turned a dazzling gold, like two raging fires emitting a heart-stopping radiance.
“Old man! You’d better stand firm for this!” Po Kong’s voice carried peerless confidence as it cut through the attacks in the air, echoing across the battlefield.
“What? That kid... something’s wrong!” Ming Ye scanned the ruins beneath him, and an ominous premonition suddenly surged in his heart.
Before he could fully process it, a massive gap was blown through the sea of battle qi that should have swallowed Po Kong and Lira whole.
Immediately after, a tall figure shot into the air like a meteor streaking across the night sky.
“Howling Moon Slash!”
Facing Ming Ye’s overwhelming and indiscriminate assault, Po Kong let out a roar and swung his blade downward.
With that shout, a ring of dazzling golden light erupted from the giant sword in his hand, looking like a bright moon rising in the night sky to illuminate the entire battlefield.
To Ming Ye’s shock, his Saint Rank battle qi—which should have crushed everything like a tide—was rapidly dissolving upon contact with that golden sword light, like early spring snow meeting a warm sun.
After neutralizing Ming Ye’s fierce offensive with a single strike, Po Kong’s movements remained as swift as the wind without the slightest hesitation. He swung the giant sword, which was over two meters long, and brought it crashing down toward the top of Ming Ye’s head like a falling star.
“Cloud-Shattering Slash!”
At this moment, the spirit armament gripped in Po Kong’s hands was tightly wrapped in brilliant War God battle qi. The entire blade had turned the color of molten gold. Under its terrifying power, the original sharpness of the edge seemed secondary; it was no longer the most eye-catching detail.
As the blade fell, even the surrounding space was torn by the immense force, distorting and warping.
Seeing this, Ming Ye had no choice but to raise his scythe high, forcibly blocking the heavy, powerful blow. But he hadn't expected the strike to carry such immense force; he couldn't even maintain his flight and was pressed straight toward the ground by Po Kong.
The moment the two weapons collided, a deafening boom erupted like the heavens were collapsing. Even the ground beneath Ming Ye’s feet could not withstand the force, caving in to form a massive crater.
Dust and rubble flew everywhere, blotting out the sun and shrouding the battlefield in chaos.
Lira, who had just deactivated Super Sense, had not yet fully recovered his senses when he was sent flying by the powerful shockwave, stumbling onto the ground dozens of meters away.
“Is this really something a Grand Swordmaster can do? He’s actually suppressing Ming Ye?”
Lira leaned on his longsword to prop up his overburdened body, staring into the depths of the crater with eyes that were already blurred.
Just as Lira was filled with anxiety while staring at the dust-filled air, a fiery-red battle qi suddenly erupted from the bottom of the pit. Like a volcanic surge, it illuminated everything around it.
The Saint Rank battle qi ignited the entire space like a tsunami, incinerating even the dust suspended in the air. At the same time, the two blurred figures at the bottom of the crater became clear once again.
Po Kong still held his downward-swinging posture, but the golden battle qi around him had become as thin as mist. Countless small wounds covered his body, drenching him in blood. The giant sword in his hand was covered in alarming cracks, looking as if it might shatter at any moment.
In contrast, although Ming Ye looked somewhat disheveled, his blood-red scythe remained perfectly intact. It was steadily and firmly pushing Po Kong’s weapon back.
“I must say, as a human, the fact that you could push me to this extent is indeed worthy of praise. But you’ve greatly underestimated the intrinsic weapon of a Saint Rank powerhouse. How could that broken sword of yours possibly compete with my weapon?”
Ming Ye’s voice echoed from the bottom of the pit. Simultaneously, a crisp snapping sound rang out. Po Kong’s repaired spirit armament finally reached its limit, shattering completely into countless silver fragments that scattered across the ground.
“What you relied on was nothing more than an outburst of War God battle qi. If you were given another ten years to grow, perhaps I would be the one losing now. But for now... I’ll take your life. I’ll give you a dignified death!”
Looking at Po Kong, whose aura had become unstable, Ming Ye kicked away the metal fragments at his feet. He raised his giant scythe high, its blood-colored blade falling toward Po Kong’s neck like a bolt of lightning.
“Did we... still fail? Damn it!” Lira watched as the streak of blood-red battle qi was about to swallow everything, a shadow of despair flickering in his eyes.
Just as he was about to close his eyes and accept the result, Po Kong, who had been silent, suddenly let out a laugh.
“Heh... as expected... you finally took the bait, old man!”
