Chapter 320 · Volume 1

Angela Takes Action

At his chest, multicolored elements were rapidly fusing, their original vivid colors fading as they condensed into an even more terrifying power.
At the same time, Po Kong activated his War God Battle Qi to its limit. A layer of dazzling golden light, like a blazing sun, enveloped the four of them, forming an indestructible shield.
Just as they were about to make a desperate final stand, a majestic burst of emerald green light suddenly erupted from behind them. Like an unsheathed sword, it instantly sliced through the dark grey barrier looming over their heads.
After shattering the dense wall of death energy, the green light continued forward with undiminished momentum, striking directly at the black monster in the sky.
Faced with this sudden, lethal strike, the monster finally adopted a defensive stance.
The grey mist swirling around it churned violently, rapidly condensing into a thick grey shield that met the surging emerald light head-on.
The grey and green lights collided in the air like two giant dragons. For a moment, the colors of the world seemed to be ignited, boiling over like a volcanic eruption. The two sides appeared perfectly matched, neither able to gain the upper hand as they remained locked in a stalemate.
However, this brief balance did not last long. After a few seconds, the massive emerald light gradually disintegrated under the erosion of the endless death energy. It finally transformed into thousands of tiny green fragments, falling gently upon the earth like a light rain.
Wherever this green rain touched, brilliant flowers and tender green grass miraculously bloomed. A dense aura of life spread across the scorched earth like ripples on a pond.
Simultaneously, the grey shield in front of the monster lost its support as the light dissipated, finally turning into a wisp of smoke and vanishing into nothingness.
Starlight looked back sharply and saw Angela, dressed in a light, flowing gown, hovering leisurely at the entrance behind them like a celestial being.
She was radiating vibrant vitality, as brilliant as the sun. Pairs of nearly transparent wings, thin as a cicada’s, beat gently behind her back, making her appear even more ethereal and otherworldly.
As she stepped gracefully through the air toward them, the remaining dark death energy in the vicinity began to melt away rapidly, and the suffocating atmosphere in the air vanished along with it.
“Who exactly are you? Do you not intend to show your true face?” Angela’s voice was icy, a complete departure from her previous gentle and intellectual demeanor.
She looked up at the massive figure tightly wrapped in thick mist. Her voice contained a majesty and power that could not be underestimated, and the aura radiating from her slender figure was so strong that Starlight and the others could barely keep their footing.
However, the monster lurking in the sky did not seem to understand Angela’s words. Instead, in a nearly provocative gesture, it suddenly spat out a massive cloud of thick grey mist toward the ground.
Facing that overwhelming aura of death that threatened to devour everything, Angela merely knit her brow slightly. Then, she lightly flicked her fair hand in mid-air.
With this single movement, the grey power that had been so dense it almost turned liquid was instantly neutralized by her strength and disappeared into the sky.
“Since we cannot communicate, I suppose I will have to let my fists do the talking.”
Angela slowly closed her extended fingers, turning her hand into a palm, and slashed downward toward the air.
In an instant, time and space seemed to freeze. A terrifying aura locked onto the monster in the sky.
Under everyone’s horrified gaze, an extremely thin green silk thread abruptly appeared in the dark sky. Though inconspicuous, it forcibly split the entire firmament in two.
The monster’s long body was also cleanly severed into two pieces by this single strike.
Despite the monster suffering such a heavy blow, no joy appeared on Angela’s face. In her keen perception, the monster’s aura remained exceptionally stable, showing no signs of disturbance.
Even more startling was that the surface where the green thread had cut was as smooth as a mirror, with no blood seeping out. It was as if what had just been sliced was not a body of flesh and blood, but some kind of existence that defied common logic.
Angela knew the power behind her strike. Even if the Power of Nature was not known for its offensive capabilities, with the close-range support of the World Tree, the power of this blow was definitely not to be underestimated. it was enough to rival the full-strength attack of any top-tier powerhouse on the continent.
Yet, the monster before her had no reaction to it, which clearly exceeded her understanding of normal biological entities. An ominous premonition quietly rose in Angela’s heart; she realized that the monster before her might not be as simple as she had imagined.
“You four, leave this place quickly. This thing is not quite right. It seems I’ll have to show my true capabilities for the first time in a long while.”
Starlight and the others were about to step forward to help, but Angela reached out to stop them, indicating that the level of this battle was no longer something they could intervene in.
“But... Senior!”
Po Kong wanted to say more, but Angela decisively cut him off.
“There are no buts. The World Tree tells me that enemies have appeared elsewhere as well. It looks like this fellow’s purpose is just to stall me here. You go and support the others!”
Just as Starlight and the others were about to agree, the monster that had been cleanly sliced in two suddenly underwent an unbelievable change.
At the severed edges of its body, new flesh and structures began to grow rapidly and eerily.
A few seconds later, the monster that was originally one had split into two entities with identical forms and auras, as if they had never suffered any harm at all.
This scene left the four of them dumbfounded. They had never seen such a bizarre and powerful regenerative ability. Even Angela’s brow furrowed deeply, her eyes filled with gravity.
While Starlight and the others were focused intently on the two split monsters, the situation suddenly changed again.
The one split from the monster’s head suddenly opened its massive maw filled with fangs, let out a deafening roar, and charged fiercely toward the four of them once again.
Meanwhile, the other monster did something unexpected—it turned its massive body directly and sped toward the nearby World Tree like a bolt of black lightning.
This sudden turn of events made everyone’s hearts tighten as an ominous feeling welled up within them.
“Oh no, its target is the World Tree!”
Angela’s voice exploded in their ears as she immediately realized the monster’s true intention.
The World Tree was not just a simple symbol for the elves; once it came under attack, the entire elven race would suffer a severe blow, and the consequences would be unimaginable.
At this thought, she clapped her hands together. The surrounding air seemed to respond to her will, instantly condensing into a pair of invisible giant hands that firmly pinned the monster charging at them in mid-air.
Under the sudden restraint, the monster was unable to move. Immense pressure surged from all directions, continuously squeezing every inch of its body until it was compressed into a gradually shrinking square space.
That space was covered with a layer of incredibly solid Power of Nature, firmly suppressing the death energy on the monster. Even as it struggled within, trying to break the shackles, its efforts were in vain.
As for Angela herself, after restraining the monster, she beat her wings and her figure transformed into a brilliant streak of emerald light. With lightning speed, she streaked across the sky, racing toward the other monster that intended to attack the World Tree, leaving the four of them behind to look at each other in bewilderment.
