Perhaps because he had finally found a moment of peace after several days of travel, Starlight slept soundly until the sun was high in the sky the next day.
When he stepped out of his room, he was surprised to find the entire house quiet. After calling out for Po Kong a few times and receiving no response, Starlight realized that the three of them were not at home.
Thus, Starlight quickly washed up, got dressed, and headed downstairs.
The moment he pushed open the door, warm sunlight immediately bathed his body. A fresh floral scent wafted toward him, making him feel incredibly relaxed and happy.
In the flower field outside the house, a slender figure was crouching slightly beside a cluster of shrubs. Faint natural elements surrounded her body like a mist, slowly swirling and creating a hazy, enchanting aesthetic.
Starlight couldn't help but be deeply captivated by the scene. It wasn't until Noah gave a light cough that he snapped back to his senses and walked forward to greet Moen.
“Good morning, Moen. Are you the only one here? Where are Po Kong and Xia Duo?”
Sensing the movement behind her, Moen gracefully turned around. Her carefully braided flaxen hair and her green dress fluttered gently in the breeze, shimmering with a dazzling light under the sun.
“Good morning~ You’re finally awake. It seems you really were exhausted yesterday, weren't you? Sister dragged Po Kong to the market early this morning to buy some daily necessities. After all, we’ll be staying here for a while, won't we?”
Moen was clearly in a very good mood. A beautiful smile blossomed on her face, complementing the flowers in the field and forming a moving portrait.
“So beautiful...”
Infected by her smile, Starlight subconsciously murmured his praise in a low voice.
“Hmm?”
“Ah... that... I was talking about this flower field. I remember... there weren't this many in bloom yesterday, were there? Why are they all...”
Starlight suddenly realized he might have said something embarrassing. His face flushed, and he quickly turned his head away, not daring to look directly into Moen’s sapphire-like eyes as he stammered out an explanation.
“Pfft~ So you were talking about that. This is actually an application of natural elements~ Look!”
Moen let out a soft laugh, amused by Starlight’s awkwardness. As she explained, she gently brushed her hand over the shrub beside her.
The faint natural elements around her immediately followed her fingertips and climbed into the shrub.
“Magic isn't just for fighting, you know~ Wake up, everyone, and show your most beautiful side!”
As if receiving a command, the flower buds on the shrub bloomed at a speed visible to the naked eye under their watchful gaze. In just a few breaths, the original green transformed into a riot of vibrant colors.
“That’s amazing. It’s a pity I can’t use natural elements, otherwise I’d really want to learn from you,” Starlight said with a smile, looking at the rapidly changing shrub.
“You’re quite greedy, Starlight! You already know so many types of spells, yet you want more? I feel like you have some hidden motive!”
Moen chuckled softly as she strolled along the narrow path through the greenery. Wherever her graceful figure passed, flowers bloomed one after another, as if paving a colorful path for her footsteps.
“I... I didn't mean anything else! Really...”
Just as Starlight was about to explain, he was interrupted by Moen’s playful smile. She gently placed a finger against her lips, signaling that there was no need for more words.
“I was just joking~ I didn't expect you to take it so seriously, heehee... If you’re free, why don't you walk with me for a bit? Let's try to tidy up this entire flower field before Sister and the others get back. How about we give them a surprise?” Moen said. “Of course, it would be even better if you could help me water them~”
For the time being, Starlight accompanied Moen as they wandered through the flower field outside the house, watering the plants and chatting about many things.
Starlight thought Po Kong and Xia Duo would return soon, so after helping the entire field bloom, he brought out two chairs from the house and sat by the door with Moen, leisurely soaking up the sun.
However, the ones who arrived were not Po Kong and Xia Duo, but a visit from Principal Eventador.
With a slight ripple in space, Eventador’s figure suddenly appeared before them.
He looked visibly haggard, as if he hadn't slept well. After glancing at the blooming sea of flowers with a hint of surprise, he turned to the two of them.
“Little Star, you two certainly are leisurely! It seems you rested well last night? I trust the house we used to live in is still acceptable?”
Seeing his sudden arrival, the two quickly stood up and were about to bow in greeting, but Eventador stopped them.
“That’s enough~ After all, I am technically your uncle. There’s no need for such formalities in private; just be at ease,” Eventador said.
Starlight could only change his bow to a nod. Filled with curiosity, he asked, “Then... Principal, what brings you here today?”
Eventador smiled slightly and said, “It’s nothing much, really. I just wanted to see if you youngsters were settling in well, and to deliver a message for Master.”
Upon hearing that he brought news from Mowei, Noah slowly drifted between the three of them and asked lazily.
“Oh? Does the old man have instructions... Let me guess... Is it about Little Star’s entrance exam? Also, why do you look so worn out? You’re a principal now; surely you aren't still swamped with research papers like you used to be?”
Facing Noah’s clearly teasing words, Eventador couldn't help but roll his eyes and nodded in response.
“The reason I didn't sleep well is because of you two, master and disciple... Master’s intention is that Little Star shouldn't participate in the regular student courses, as they wouldn't be very meaningful for him. Besides, it might discourage those immature youngsters.”
“Also, how long do you plan to stay at the academy? I was thinking, why not have Little Star come and learn some applications of space magic from me during this time? At the same time, I can also provide some guidance on wind magic for this elf girl.”
After a brief moment of contemplation, Noah spoke up.
“Don’t look at me like that; I can’t make decisions for them. However, I do hope you can open all areas of the library to them. Although Little Star won't be attending actual classes, I still want him to learn some other things here.”
Eventador’s brow quirked slightly, seemingly surprised by Noah’s request, but he quickly and readily agreed. He took out two access passes from his storage space and handed them to Starlight and Moen.
“Let’s leave it at that for now~ I still need to go check on the admissions situation. Starting tomorrow, have Little Star and her come to see me every morning. As for the rest of your time, you can arrange it as you please.”
