While the two were messing around, Moen spoke up again to ask a question.
“Starlight, is the Noah you just mentioned the person who was using your body earlier? Since we’re on the subject, why not have him come out for a meeting?”
It was only then that Starlight realized he had let the name slip, and Moen had sharply caught it.
Just as he was hesitating on how to explain, Noah, who was at his waist, floated up quite openly. He drifted into the middle of the group and spoke.
“Ahem, young lady, you have sharp intuition. I am the Noah he mentioned. You can think of me as a creation of his master. Although I don’t have much combat power, I can offer some advice when it matters.”
Upon hearing his voice, Xia Duo’s eyes widened in surprise. “It’s that strange voice from before! It turns out you’re hiding quite a few secrets, Starlight! You aren’t the descendant of some human royal family too, are you?”
Hearing this, Noah chuckled. “Of course not. How could there be so many royals and nobles in the world? Little Star just happens to have a reasonably reliable master. Why, young lady? Surely you didn't call me out just to confirm my existence?”
Moen raised an eyebrow at being seen through, then asked softly.
“Forgive me, Mr. Noah, I’ll be blunt. Your existence reminds me of Taros’s soul. I was curious if you would have any negative impact on Mr. Starlight.”
“Hmm... a good question, but your concern is a bit redundant. First, this body of mine was created long ago and its form is fixed. Furthermore, I have no interest in his body. I quite like my current form—at least I don't have to participate in all the killing.”
Noah seemed to have anticipated Moen’s question, answering naturally as he floated in front of her.
The person and the book stared at each other from about half a meter away for a moment. Finally, Moen broke into a smile and reached out her fair hand.
Noah extended a corner of a page and lightly touched her palm, much like a friendly handshake.
...
Once the commotion inside the room settled, the four of them finally left the Adventurers Guild.
Before leaving, however, Po Kong—who was still covered in bandages—insisted on taking the two women to register as adventurers. Since President Strange had given them an out, they had to go through the motions, regardless of how things actually were.
Their appearance caused quite a stir in the guild hall. After all, it was extremely rare for elves to register there.
It wasn't that elven adventurers didn't exist—there were plenty of people with demi-human blood on the continent—but a pureblood elf registering was as rare as a phoenix feather or a unicorn horn.
Many people scrambled for a look at who these newcomers were, but they were eventually held back by the identity Po Kong threw around, allowing the two women to complete the procedures smoothly.
To make Moen and Xia Duo’s identities more convincing, Po Kong specifically applied for an adventurer team slot. This way, they could claim the commission rewards Strange mentioned under a team name.
As for the team’s name, he couldn't decide on one at the moment, so he took the application for <Temporary Team No. 1029> back to their lodgings.
Once they returned to the inn, Po Kong gathered the three of them with great solemnity to discuss the team.
“Since we’re forming a team, we should have a catchy name, right? This commission is a big deal. If I’m not mistaken, we’re probably going to be famous tomorrow!”
Po Kong slammed the application form onto the table and looked at the three of them with an excited expression.
“I have no opinion on this... You guys decide.” Starlight was the first to state he had no ideas. Rather than worrying about this, he’d rather spend time deciding what to eat for dinner.
In contrast, Xia Duo took a deep interest in the proposal and began a heated discussion with Po Kong, while Moen listened quietly with interest.
“We’re so strong that we even defeated an ancient god. To commemorate this grand event, how about calling ourselves the ‘Godslayer Team’?” Po Kong suggested, his face beaming with pride.
“Starting right off with Godslayer? Isn't that a bit too high-profile? Since I’ve already used my family identity... should we be the War God Team? ...No, I definitely don't want that! Even the Invincible Team sounds better!” Xia Duo immediately countered.
“No, no, that’s terrible! I absolutely won't accept it! How about something simpler... the Four Spirit Heroes?”
“What does that even mean? Besides, two of us are humans.”
...
The two argued for dozens of minutes without reaching a conclusion. Starlight was starting to feel drowsy and instinctively wanted to leave.
“How about you two keep discussing it while I go prepare dinner?”
“Little Star/Starlight, wait right there! You’re not allowed to leave!”
Though Po Kong and Xia Duo had their differences, they stopped him in unison this time. They both believed this was a matter for all four of them, and no one was allowed to leave until a decision was made.
Starlight rolled his eyes at his failed escape and sat back down helplessly.
Seeing his dejected look, Moen couldn't help but smile. She eventually interrupted the debate between Xia Duo and Po Kong.
“Since it’s a four-person team, why don't we use our four names to name it? It might be a bit cliché, but at least it has clear meaning,” Moen said softly.
Hearing her sister’s suggestion, Xia Duo blinked her large eyes and nodded in realization. Even Po Kong showed an expression of deep agreement.
“Right! Why didn't I think of that? That’s a great suggestion, Moen!”
“It is good... but won't the four names put together be too long? Especially your full elven names. Won't it be a mouthful?”
At that moment, Noah, who was at Starlight’s waist, suddenly offered his own perspective.
“I’m not sure what Xia Duo and Moen mean in Elvish, but in the Common Tongue, don't they just sound like ‘Shadow’ and ‘Moon’? Think about it differently—just take one word from each person's name.”
“Hmm... if we follow Senior Noah’s logic... how about... Starry Moon Shadow?”
After listening to Noah’s analysis, Starlight hesitated for a moment before slowly voicing his thought.
“Hmm? Starry Moon Shadow... that sounds pretty good. Although I think it lacks a bit of dominance, it’s surprisingly smooth to say.”
“True, it’s much better than those ‘Invincible’ or ‘War God’ names you were thinking of!”
“The shadow of the moon under the starry sky? It’s quite poetic—I like it. I vote yes.”
Unexpectedly, Starlight’s casual suggestion received unanimous approval from Po Kong and the others. With that, their team name was finally settled.
None of them could have predicted the waves this name would cause in the future. It was like a pebble tossed into a lake; for now, it might only cause tiny ripples, but as time passed, those ripples would gradually spread, eventually creating a storm powerful enough to shock the entire world.
