Chapter 112 · Volume 1

The Wish

Crack! Crack! Crack!
The seven items shattered one after another, and a thick, pitch-black liquid resembling crude oil oozed out from within them.
Below the liquid, Liu Wen watched the scene with his six eyes. The second evil god after the Earth Mother. The world is getting more and more ridiculous.
In his perception, this viscous liquid carried an extreme, concentrated malice.
The liquid began to shift and expand, with bolts of lightning striking it repeatedly during the process.
In less than three seconds, a dragon-man standing over fifty meters tall materialized. The dragon-man had a muscular upper body, tightly closed eyes, and over a dozen writhing tentacles dangling from its chin.
Its color began to shift, starting with a pale white before turning into a brilliant silver.
Its entire body was covered in silver dragon scales, and a pair of silver wings with a wingspan of over a hundred and sixty meters unfurled from its back. Golden flames flowed through the gaps between its scales.
Rumble!
A bolt of lightning, far thicker than any before, struck the fully formed dragon-man. Its eyes snapped open, revealing golden pupils that radiated a terrifying pressure.
“Roar!” The first thing the Lord of Evil did upon opening its eyes was throw its head back and let out a deafening dragon roar.
This roar was the release of four thousand years of pent-up rage and frustration from being sealed.
Visible soundwaves rippled outward from above its head, shooting straight toward the dark clouds in the sky.
Hum!
As the soundwaves swept through, the dark clouds directly above the Lord of Evil instantly split open, forming a massive circular hole tens of kilometers wide.
Moonlight poured down through the gap in the clouds, making the Lord of Evil's silver dragon scales shimmer with glints of light.
Having vented its fury, the Lord of Evil pulled its mouth open in a sinister grin. “Four thousand years of imprisonment is finally in the past! This King has returned to the mortal realm!”
With that, it lowered its massive head and looked down at Zhao Jin. “Speak. Your wi—”
Mid-sentence, the words caught in the Lord of Evil's throat.
It stared at Zhao Jin in shock and suspicion. In its eyes, Zhao Jin was radiating an incredibly dense golden light. Furthermore, what was with that terrifying sense of oppression?
Its consciousness had briefly awakened before, and it believed that even if there were supernatural beings in this world, none of them could possibly be stronger than itself.
Before this, it had been picked up by a group of monsters and had possessed one of them. Through that monster's memories, it learned that behind those creatures stood an evil god of similar strength to its own.
Is this the Lord of Evil? With a body that size, it's probably a monster that excels in physical combat, Tang Yongyun thought, looking up at the dragon-man.
Unlike the Earth Mother, the Lord of Evil did not emit any form of mental pollution, so there was no danger in looking directly at it.
Looking at the visibly unsettled Lord of Evil, a faint, amused smile played on Zhao Jin's lips. “O great Lord of Evil, why did you stop halfway through your sentence?”
The notebook floated beside him of its own accord, its pages beginning to record details about the Lord of Evil.
Hearing this, the Lord of Evil suppressed the growing dread in its heart and spoke in a majestic, booming voice, “Speak. What is your wish? Unsealing this King deserves a reward, and this wish shall be your recompense!”
The smile on Zhao Jin's face widened. “How wonderful. O great Lord of Evil, my wish is for everything in this world, whether it currently exists or does not, to awaken spirituality!”
His intention was to bring change to things that were originally inanimate, and even to conceptual things—such as the very malice that birthed the Lord of Evil.
The Lord of Evil had only manifested because it was born from malice; the dragon itself was the spiritual embodiment of that malice.
That was on a conceptual level. To put it in terms closer to daily life, it would apply to ancient statues or stories that carried Destiny Force.
Once this wish was granted, there was a chance these things could manifest in the world on their own, without Zhao Jin needing to bestow Destiny Force upon them.
Perhaps even certain aspects within the human body would awaken spirituality, allowing them to step into the supernatural realm.
Zhao Jin intended to use the Lord of Evil to fling open the gates to an era of the supernatural. Of course, the Lord of Evil alone could only open the gates; he would still need to build upon it himself in the future.
Having realized that Zhao Jin's strength was very likely superior to its own, the Lord of Evil knew this wish would not be an easy one to grant.
Yet when it actually heard the words, its pupils contracted slightly, and the arrogant, invincible demeanor it had shown upon being unsealed vanished completely.
“What? What... what on earth do you mean by that?!” The Lord of Evil was utterly dumbfounded.
This wish was clearly designed to squeeze it dry.
Zhao Jin ignored it, simply waiting in silence with a smile.
Rumble!
Above the Lord of Evil's head, a bolt of golden lightning materialized out of thin air and struck its body.
The dragon-man's face went completely expressionless. It had been taken over by the rules of the promise it had previously made, regardless of whether it was willing to grant Zhao Jin's wish or not.
“This King shall grant your wish!” an emotionless voice drifted from its mouth.
The Lord of Evil raised both its hands, looked up at the sky, and roared, “I, the Lord of Evil, decree that everything in this world, whether existing or non-existing, shall awaken spirituality!”
