Chapter 110 · Volume 1

Making an Entrance

Atop the tallest skyscraper in the center of Yangcheng, Zhao Jin sat on the edge of the roof, the ground sprawling more than five hundred meters below him.
Looking at the phantom of the Earth Mother manifesting in the East District, his expression remained completely blank. “Are you already here to reap the fruits of my labor?”
The Earth Mother's mental corruption had absolutely no effect on him. He had discovered that his Undying nature seemed to apply to his mind as well.
Any negative effect—or even positive buff—applied without his consent was utterly incapable of altering his physical body or his mind.
He glanced at his Destiny Force. Since the Earth Mother's appearance, the count had reached 3.35 million strands, and the number was still skyrocketing.
With a thought, Zhao Jin commanded: “Enhance Slash, set the limit to one hundred thousand strands of Destiny Force. Enhance Gravity, set the limit to one hundred thousand strands of Destiny Force.”
The numbers displaying his Destiny Force blurred for a moment before shifting to 3.15 million strands.
Slash: Able to cut through all matter and energy! (Range: Anywhere within sight, zero cost to cast!)
Gravity: Can exert a gravitational force a million times his own strength!
The evolution of Slash had transformed it from merely being able to slice through the hardest substances in the world to directly cutting through all matter and energy.
Furthermore, a distinct intuition arose in Zhao Jin's heart: once a single ability had a million strands of Destiny Force invested into it, a profound qualitative change would occur.
From this moment on, nothing could block his Slash—not even a being like the Earth Mother, who treated nuclear bombs like mere firecrackers.
Zhao Jin looked toward the distant Earth Mother, his expression serene. “If you want to steal my spoils, you are nowhere near qualified.”
With that, Zhao Jin's figure vanished from the rooftop.
Meanwhile, directly beneath the Earth Mother.
Tang Yongyun stared up at the manifesting phantom of the Earth Mother. The phantom was solidifying bit by bit, as if crossing through the dimensions from an unfathomably distant realm.
“So the worst-case scenario has come to pass after all,” Tang Yongyun murmured, his expression grim.
The urge to retreat grew within him. They were simply not on the same level. Although his opponent was an evil god, she was still a genuine deity.
He wasn't the only one; Liu Wen, standing in the distance, felt the exact same way.
“Hahaha! You're all dead! Our God has arrived!” Yu Shuanghua cackled maniacally. “Yangcheng will soon be history! Only our Church of the Earth Mother is worthy of controlling the Lord of Evil! You pieces of trash aren't even fit to touch it!”
Having been whipped around like a spinning top by Tang Yongyun earlier, he had been utterly suffocated by humiliation.
Buzz!
Suddenly, a massive, suffocating pressure descended from the sky.
The expressions of the three airborne monsters shifted drastically as they were slammed out of the air, crashing onto the ground.
Thud!
Tang Yongyun's feet shattered the concrete beneath him. He tried to move, but the aura targeting him pinned his body down like a mountain. The surrounding space warped and distorted, leaving him unable to even disperse into a flock of crows.
A few hundred meters away, Liu Wen was in an even more pathetic state. He was slammed flat against the ground, the immense pressure crushing the asphalt beneath his weight.
Buzz!
The massive face of the Earth Mother was now almost fully solid. A supreme, suffocating dread radiated from her features as a terrifying wave of blood-red energy suddenly erupted from her form.
Rumble!
On both sides of the street below the Earth Mother stood skyscrapers over a hundred meters tall, with the TV tower towering above them all.
As the crimson shockwave swept through them, the earth shuddered violently. Fissures spiderwebbed across concrete walls, and the massive structures began to buckle and collapse, kicking up a colossal storm of dust.
Simultaneously, Zhang Yi, who lay unconscious on the ground, was enveloped by a crimson mist. His physical body dissolved into bloody water and was drawn upward, absorbed back into the Earth Mother.
To the Earth Mother, as long as a servant did not die instantly, they could always be recycled and remade.
Below, Yu Shuanghua looked up with a fanatical, devout expression and shouted, “O great Earth Mother, the dust has settled! Allow your humble believer to execute these two heretics!”
Rumble!
The collapsing skyscrapers around him didn't bother him in the slightest. At this moment, he wanted nothing more than to slaughter these two animals.
“Granted.” An exalted, entirely emotionless voice echoed from the Earth Mother.
Having received permission, a cruel sneer spread across Yu Shuanghua's face as he turned his gaze toward Tang Yongyun, who was pinned helplessly to the ground.
“Earth Mother, you have truly ruined my good mood.” A calm voice suddenly rang out.
The voice was so clear that not even the deafening thunder of the collapsing skyscrapers could drown it out.
“Who's there?!” Yu Shuanghua's eyes narrowed as he snapped his head toward the source of the voice.
Tang Yongyun cast his gaze over, and a wave of relief washed over his heart.
At the far end of the street, a young man wearing a suit and a fedora had appeared out of nowhere.
He held a black notebook in his left hand, his expression completely indifferent as he looked at Yu Shuanghua as if looking at a piece of garbage.
Rumble!
Behind the young man, several hundred-meter-tall skyscrapers on either side of the street were leaning and collapsing directly toward him.
Chunks of reinforced concrete rained down in torrents. Before these collapsing monoliths, the young man's figure seemed as insignificantly small as an ant.
Bang!
The upper half of one of the skyscrapers suddenly snapped off, sending a massive twenty-story segment hurtling straight toward Zhao Jin.
Seeing that Zhao Jin made no move to avoid the building plummeting toward his head, Yu Shuanghua sneered, “Where did this trash come from? You've got a death wish!”
Amidst the swirling dust, Zhao Jin's expression didn't fluctuate in the slightest. He casually raised his right hand to shoulder height.
In the next instant, something occurred that nearly made Yu Shuanghua's eyes pop out of their sockets.
The colossal segment of the building froze mid-air, mere inches above Zhao Jin's head. But it wasn't just that single block of concrete.
Behind him, several collapsing office towers froze solid in mid-air. Even the billowing dust stopped moving, and shattered debris hung suspended in the atmosphere.
It was as if time itself had ground to a complete halt.
