Chapter 105 · Volume 1

The Opening!

The helicopters soon arrived dozens of meters above the office building.
Looking at the scene below, Yu Shuanghua sneered. “So they've finally shown themselves. Today, I'll use the lives of these small-time players to spread the glorious name of our Church of the Earth Mother!”
Just as he was about to jump down, a voice came through the headset of the soldier piloting the helicopter in the cockpit.
Hearing the message, he turned to Yu Shuanghua and said nervously, “My lord, Archbishop Zhang says there is likely something strange going on here. He urges you not to go down yourself.”
Hearing the warning, Yu Shuanghua snorted coldly. “Hmph, shrinking back like a coward, and he dares call himself an Archbishop? Tell him that if he doesn't have the balls, he can go hide them! I, Yu Shuanghua, am not one to back down from a fight!”
With that, he looked back at the other helicopters. Their cabin doors were open, and the Earth Priests inside were all looking in his direction.
An arrogant expression appeared on his face as he roared, “Boys, press down! We must secure this item! This is my, Yu Shuanghua's, first battle. Don't make me look bad!”
Swoosh!
Having said his piece, he leaped down, the muscles in both his arms swelling.
Seeing him jump, the other Earth Priests all followed suit and leaped down after him.
Nearly a hundred figures rained down from the sky toward the office building, densely packing the air.
Yu Shuanghua quickly crossed the distance of dozens of meters. As he neared the roof, his pre-charged fists slammed violently into it.
Bang!
Like a heavy artillery bombardment, the roof before him instantly shattered, sending a powerful shockwave sweeping through everything below.
On the tenth floor below, the Night Slaves didn't even have time to react before being swept away and killed by the shockwave.
Crack!
The tenth-floor floorboards cracked and exploded, and Yu Shuanghua continued his downward charge.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
To outside onlookers, Yu Shuanghua's fists smashed all the way through from the tenth-floor roof down to the sixth floor, kicking up a massive cloud of rubble and dust in the air.
Thud! Thud!
A succession of heavy thuds echoed as the Earth Priests who followed Yu Shuanghua landed one by one on the ruined sixth floor.
“Archbishop Yu is mighty!” some Earth Priests roared in excitement.
A burly man laughed heartily. “This will show those scumbags in Yangcheng that our Church of the Earth Mother has no shortage of fierce warriors!”
The others shared similar expressions. Hearing his subordinates' flattery, Yu Shuanghua smiled. “Alright, I've always been fierce. The target is right below us. Let's secure the item first before we celebrate!”
As they spoke, he lifted his left foot and stomped down.
Boom!
The floor shattered, and Yu Shuanghua dropped onto the fifth floor.
A dozen meters away, the middle-aged man holding the rattle drum looked in shock at the enemy who had burst in like this.
Looking at the middle-aged man, who was shrouded in black mist but otherwise seemed entirely ordinary,
Yu Shuanghua walked toward him with a cruel sneer. “You're utterly mediocre. If not for that item in your hands, you wouldn't even have the right to look at me.”
“Look at you? I suppose it's my honor then, to go on our final journey together with such a big shot.” A bitter smile appeared on the middle-aged man's face as he heard those words.
He lowered his head and pulled a photograph from his jacket. In the photo, he was holding a little girl, with his wife standing beside them.
A look of longing washed over his face. Twenty million is enough for you both to live well. Your dad is useless, so I have to secure your happiness this way.
“What nonsense are you babbling about?” Yu Shuanghua sneered with disdain. He stopped right in front of the man and reached out to grab him by the throat.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The ceiling exploded in rapid succession as Earth Priests dropped down one after another.
Just as he was about to strangle the middle-aged man, down in the basement floor...
The Night Slave sitting inside the natural gas tanker expressionlessly pressed the detonator of the bomb in his hands.
A spark flared from the bomb in his arms, rapidly expanding, its initial blast tearing through the Night Slave's body.
Boom!
The explosion ripped the truck cabin apart, rupturing the tank behind it as fire surged inside.
As if triggering a chain reaction, the moment the fire entered the tank, a blinding flash of light erupted.
BOOM!
The entire tanker exploded, unleashing a blast equivalent to nearly a hundred tons of TNT that swept through the basement.
The remaining twenty-nine tankers detonated simultaneously. Within the enclosed space of the basement, the resulting force exceeded three thousand tons of TNT.
The ceiling above was instantly vaporized, and steel rebars began to melt.
In an instant, the entire remaining structure of the office building violently shuddered as deep, dense fissures snaked through the stairwells.
Rumble!
On the fifth floor, Yu Shuanghua, who was still clutching the middle-aged man's throat, felt a violent tremor run through the building.
The floor beneath his feet split wide open. A look of confusion flashed in his eyes. “An earthquake?”
He instinctively glanced down, only to see a massive wall of fire rushing up through the fissures at incredible speed.
Everything below was being obliterated and melted by the flames. His expression warped in sheer terror. “A trap!!!”
Rumble!
The fire engulfed the fifth floor, forcing the floorboards beneath Yu Shuanghua upward as the shockwave swept through.
The bodies of the Earth Priests were instantly shredded. They spat blood as their flesh was incinerated into ash, some of them still wearing their cruel sneers.
The combined force of the thirty tankers was terrifying. The remaining structure of the office building was completely obliterated, with chunks of the building blasted hundreds of meters into the air.
The blinding flash of the explosion lit up several surrounding streets.
The shockwave ripped through nearby structures, causing adjacent office buildings to collapse and tearing up the asphalt of the streets.
A hundred meters away, looking at the sudden explosion, the expressions of Xiao Qi and the other two spectating changed dramatically.
“Not good!” Buck's pupils contracted sharply as he threw himself in front of the other two.
A white light flared from his trench coat, forming a five-meter-wide white energy shield in front of them.
A split second later, the translucent shockwave slammed into them.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Every pane of glass on their floor shattered instantly. A violent tremor shook the entire building, and dense cracks began to spiderweb across the floor.
Whoosh!
As the shockwave swept down the street, glass shattered everywhere. The sheer force of the concussion nearly killed any ordinary people inside the buildings on the spot.
A deluge of rubble and metal rained down from the sky like meteors.
The roar of the explosion, which had leveled half the street, echoed throughout the entire city of Yangcheng.
Bang!
Over a dozen kilometers away from the blast, Wang Hai, who was currently mobilizing his men, heard the massive boom.
He looked in that direction with a terrified expression. “Has it started? These monsters are truly terrifying!”
On the adjacent street, the windows of the coffee shop shattered.
Spiritual power flared around Liu Wen and his companion, blocking out the shockwave.
Liu Zhian looked at the smoke and dust billowing into the sky and sneered, “I wonder if that bastard got blown to pieces.”
Liu Wen stood up from his seat, his expression calm. “He's not dead yet. Let's go and send him on his way.”
Yu Shuanghua had been on the fifth floor, some fifteen meters away from the basement. Given his physical durability, as long as he wasn't at the absolute epicenter of the blast, it was impossible for the explosion to kill him.
On the other side.
Buck's white shield faded. Behind him, Xiao Qi, who had the weakest constitution among them, had blood trickling from his nose, his internal organs aching from the shock.
“Terrifying. If we had gone over there just now, I doubt even the Boss could have saved us.” Looking at the devastation before him, Buck couldn't help but gasp.
Where the office building once stood, a massive crater over a hundred meters wide now gaped, surrounded by the ruins of collapsed buildings.
A thick, dusty yellow haze filled the sky, devoid of any sign of life, resembling a scene straight out of the apocalypse.
On top of a tall building a kilometer away.
Zhang Yi stared at the dust-shrouded blast site, his brow furrowed. “Such power... Fortunately, that idiot went in first, or I would have been severely injured.”
His physical conditioning wasn't as strong as Yu Shuanghua's. Fortunately, he had sensed something amiss and refrained from going.
Whoosh!
Right then, a powerful wave of spiritual power suddenly swept across the area.
Zhang Yi's expression shifted slightly. What powerful spiritual power!
“Archbishop Zhang, our people have gathered,” a woman said respectfully from behind him.
Zhang Yi looked down at the street below with an imposing gaze.
All the Earth Priests who had previously been scattered had now gathered in the street below the building.
Excluding the hundred Earth Priests who had just been vaporized in the explosion, over four hundred had assembled here.
Zhang Yi swept his eyes over them and pointed to three individuals. “You three, come up. The rest of you, move out! It is time to sacrifice yourselves for the Earth Mother!”
Among the three he had pointed out, two were spiritual monsters, while the other was a physical regeneration monster.
Hearing Zhang Yi mention the Earth Mother, even though the three had been brought here by Yu Shuanghua,
they didn't hesitate to walk toward the elevator. In less than a minute, they appeared on the rooftop.
Thirteen eyes opened on Zhang Yi's face as his back split open. “Step inside. The Church of the Earth Mother will remember your names!”
Without any hesitation, the three walked into his split-open back.
While Zhang Yi was undergoing fusion, the four hundred-plus Earth Priest monsters below set off toward the blast site.
Above the dusty haze, a dense swarm of crows appeared out of nowhere.
Believing in kicking a man while he was down, Tang Yongyun was not about to miss such a golden opportunity.
